Answering a call
When you receive a new call, the call information will appear
on the display.
If the caller can be identified, his/her phone number will be
displayed.
1. Press the
key to answer the call. If you have activated
the auto answer function, simply lift up the handset from
the base station to answer the call.
2. To end the call, either press the
key or return the
handset to its base station.
Result: When you hang up, the call duration will be
indicated on the display.
Note:
You can adjust the ring tone volume for incoming calls by
pressing
or
.
If the polyphonic ring tone is set, the ring tone may continue
for 4 seconds after the caller has hung up.
Mute function
You can temporarily mute the phone's microphone during a
call so that the person you are calling cannot hear you.
Example: You would like to say something to another person
in the room but you do not want the person you are calling
to hearyou.
To mute the microphone: Press the mute key
during the
call. CALL MUTED will appear on the display.
To unmute the microphone: Press the
key again to return
the device to normal operation.
Adjusting the volume
During a call, you can use the
or
key to adjust the
volume of the earpiece (or the speakerphone if activated) from
VOL OFF to VOL 5. The selected volume will be indicated on
the display.
You can also adjust the earpiece/speakerphone volume in the
HS SETTING menu under AUDIO SETUP.
Ringer settings
You can select your own ring tones for external calls and
adjust their volume.
1. Press the
key

to select INT RING/EXT RING, then press

to select MELODY or VOLUME, then

Result: You can select a ring tone from Melodies 1 to 10
or adjust the volume from Volume 1 to 5 or OFF. When
you adjust the ring tone or volume, the phone plays the
selected melody or rings at the selected volume.
6. Press
to confirm.
Last number redial
1. Press the
key in standby mode.
Result: The last number you dialled is shown on the
display.
2. Press the
key to dial the number.
You can retrieve the last 10 numbers you dialled on your
phone and call them again quickly.
Searching the redial list and making a call
1. Press the
key in standby mode.
2. Keep pressing
or
until the number you wish to dial
is shown.
3. Press the
key to dial the number.
Note:
If no numbers are available, EMPTY will be displayed.
When the redial list is full, the oldest number in the list will be
erased automatically each time you dial a new number.
Using the redial list options
You can use the redial list options to add a number to the
phone book or delete a number from the redial list.
1. Press the
key.
2. Scroll to the desired number using
or
3. When the number appears on the display, press
select the desired option, ADD TO PB: You can use this
option to add a number to the phone book. To complete
storing the entry, start from step 4 as described below in
"Adding call list numbers to the phone book", "Adding
numbers to the phone book" (you will see that the number
is already entered in the appropriate field).
DELETE: Use this option to delete a selected number.
DELETE ALL: Use this option to delete the entire redial list.
4. To exit, press
.
NB:
When you select the DELETE or DELETE ALL option, you
will be asked to confirm your choice with a CONFIRM?
message. To confirm press
or to cancel press
Call log
When you receive a call, the caller's phone number will be
displayed (only provided if it is tarnsfered by the relevant
network provider and the caller has not withheld it). If you
have missed one or more calls, the
icon will appear on
the display.
If the call log memory is full, the
icon will flash on the
display.
UNKNOWN - This message is displayed when someone
calls from an area where the network provider does not
provide caller ID services or does not yet offer call number
transmission in your area.
PRIVATE - This message is displayed if the caller has decided
to withhold his/her name and number.
Viewing and dialling call log numbers
1. Press the
key.
2. Press
again to select the call log and display any
.
available numbers. (You can also access the call log in
standby mode by pressing
).
3. Press
or
to view the numbers directly, and call a
number by pressing
. You can also add an entry to the
phone book.
Adding call log numbers to the phone book
1. Press the
key.
2. Press
to select the call log and display any available
numbers.
3. Use
or
to view the numbers. When the desired
number is shown on the display, press
ADD TO PB menu.
4. Press
and enter the name when prompted.
5. Enter the name, then press
to modify the number you
wish to store, if necessary.
6. Press
to select a ring tone from Melodies 1 to 10, press
to confirm and exit; you will hear a confirmation beep.

Deleting numbers from the call log
1. Press the
key.
2. Press
again to select the call log and display any
available numbers.
3. Scroll to the number you wish to delete using

when the number is shown on the display.

to select DELETE, then press
CONFIRM? will appear on the display. Press the

to confirm; you will hear a beep, then the next number will
appear on the display.

Deleting all numbers in the call log
1. Press the

again to select the call log and display any
available numbers.

DELETE ALL menu, then press
4. CONFIRM? will appear on the display; press
confirm.
Result: You will hear a beep; once all the numbers in the
log have been deleted, the phone will return to standby
mode.

Locking the keypad
You can use this function to lock the keypad. You can
answer calls using
; then when you hang up, the keypad
will be locked again. This feature prevents you from pressing
keys by mistake.
To lock the keys: press
LOCKED and the
icon appear on the display.
To unlock the keys: Press
from the display.
NB:
If you press a key when the keypad is locked you will hear
a warning tone and the message HS LOCKED will reappear
on the display.
Selecting a language
You can select one of several languages for the handset
menus. You can change the language as follows:
1. Press the
key.
2. Press

repeatedly to select HS SETTING , then

.
3. Select LANGUAGE using
4. The menu languages will be displayed. Scroll through the
options using

. The name of each language is
shown in the relevant language.
5. Select the language of your choice using

HS name
"HS N" is the standard format name of the handset after
registration, whereby N = a number from 1 to 5 indicating
that the handset is the Nth handset assigned to the base
station. The HS name is displayed in standby mode. You can

4. You can now enter a handset name (up to 6 characters)

Paging
If you have misplaced your handset, you can page it from the
base station using a special search tone.
Press the key (Fig. D4) on the base station for less than
5 seconds; the handset registered to the base will ring for
about 60 seconds.

You can change the dial mode as follows:

Hands-free
During a call, you can turn on the speakerphone built into the
handset. In this mode you can simply put your handset on
a surface (e.g. your desk) and enjoy the comfort of a hands-
free conversation.
To turn the feature on, press
will appear on the display.
To turn the feature off,

again to continue the call without using the
speakerphone. The

Make sure that you have turned off the speakerphone before
putting the handset by your ear.

The phone book built into your cordless phone allows you to
