Installation; Turning Between Centres - T.O.M GTB10 Bedienungsanleitung

insTaLLaTiOn

- the lathe must be secured to a workbench before use.
- Fit the wheel 10 with its handle onto the shaft of the tail stock 9 using a 3mm male key (not supplied). - Position the locking button 13
on the tool rest clamp 5.
important!
Before working on the machine, make sure to disconnect it from the power socket.
speeD settinG:
- Open the cover 15.
- loosen the two motor screws located on each side of the lower pulley, but do not remove them
- Select the speed suitable for the job (this lathe has four speeds; see the label inside the cover).
- Always make sure the belt is aligned.
- Apply vertical force on the lower pulley to tighten the belt and the two motor screws.

turninG BetWeen Centres

- Mark the centre of the workpiece at each end (draw diagonals).
- Release the tail stock.
- unscrew the live centre of the lathe and push it with a mallet into one of the ends of the wooden workpiece.
- Screw the centre and workpiece into the live spindle.
- Move the tail stock until the workpiece is clamped in place, making sure that the spur centre goes into the centre of the
workpiece.
- lock the tail stock.
- Turn the wheel to secure the workpiece firmly and then tighten the lock nut.
turninG WitH tHe Help oF tHe FaCe plate (FaCe WorK):
- take the centre off the lathe, secure the face plate instead.
- clamp the workpiece to the face plate.
note: the tail stock is not used in this case.
MaCHininG:
(no chisel is supplied with the wood lathe).
Place the chisel on the tool rest to machine the workpiece.
when you start, position the chisel at the centre height and then adjust as needed.
Setting the tool rest
- lengthwise through the clamp that slides in the bed slides.
- heightwise by moving its pin in the clamp housing.
important!
always lock the tool rest in both positions before starting to work.
STARTING UP:
- Make sure that no tool used for mounting and setting remains on the machine.
- connect the power cable to a plug that is properly connected to the earth. If your installation requires an extension cord,
make sure that the cord has an earth connection.
this lathe has a no-volt release switch: - press I to switch it on
- press O to switch it off
