7. Recipes

7.1 Raclette

You can prepare the Swiss specialty Raclette for up to 4 persons with this appliance.
2.
The preparation of Raclette is easy and has a great variety. You can combine almost any ingredients
you like.
3.
Typical Raclette ingredients are small corn cobs, pineapple, champignons, onions, small asparagus,
ham, salami and so on.

You also can fry sausages or meat in small pieces on the hot stone (4) or grilling plate (7).
5.
Only use cheese suitable for Raclette or special Raclette cheese. Ask your grocer for advice.
6.
Suitable cheese for Raclette is Raclette cheese, Emmental cheese, Gouda or Edam cheese.
Note
Do not use cheese that melts slowly.
7.
For Raclette you need approx. 250 grams of Raclette cheese for each person.

Traditionally there would be jacket potatoes as side dish. You might also use some bread or other
side dishes.

7.2 Melting cheese

1.
Place some ingredients in a pan (6) and cover it with one or two slices of cheese. Place the pan (6) in
the storage area (2) mould to melt the cheese slowly and prevent it from burning.
2.
When bubbles build up in the cheese, it is ready for eating.

7.3 Frying meat

1.
Cut meat or sausages into small pieces or slices. Rub a little salt onto the meat.
2.
Thinly grease the grilling plate (7) or hot stone (4) with suitable cooking oil.
3.
Place the meat on the grilling plate (7) or hot stone (4).
4.
Turn the meat with a scraper (5).
5.
Remove the meat from the frying surfaces when it has been fried to your taste.
Note
Fry small or thin meat pieces only. Do not fry ingredients that might burn easily.
