Fully open the fitting by turning the Blue
- The cooler will be filled.
- If water flows out of the spout close faucet by turning the
®
Blue handle.
If the Blue ® handle is flashing red and E4 or E6 appears in
the display, the fitting and cooler must be synchronised
as follows, see Fig. [8]:
• Press and hold the and
flashes in the display.
• Press the button until SE stops flashing.
• Release the button, C- flashes in the display.
• Keep pressing the or button until H- flashes in the
display.
• Press the button until H- stops flashing.

• Blue handle synchronisation starts; HC appears in the
®
display and the Blue handle lights up red.
®
• As soon as the Blue handle lights up green, open the fitting
®
fully by turning the Blue handle.
®
• As soon as the Blue handle briefly flashes green, close the
®
fitting by turning the Blue handle, HC flashes in the display.
• Confirm the setting by pressing the
appears.
• Release the button.
The remaining filter capacity is displayed.

The buttons have the following functions:
Filter replacement reset
Filter size selection
Carbonate hardness adjustment

In the inactive state, the remaining filter capacity is displayed
in percent.
Set the temperature of the cooled water on the cooler, see
fold-out page II, Fig. [9].
Set the filter size, see Fig. [10].
button for filter size selection:
• Press and hold button once until the currently setted
value (e. g. F1) flashes in the display
• Press the button and select the required value appears
- F1: 600 liters 40 404 000
- F2: 1,500 liters 40 430 000
- F3: 3,000 liters 40 412 000
- F4: 600 liters 40 404 001
- F5: 1,500 liters 40 430 001
- F6: 3,000 liters 40 412 001
- F7: 600 liters 40 691 001 (Magnesium)
- F8: 3.000 liters 40 547 001 (Activ carbon)
• Press and hold the button until the required value stops
flashing
• Release the button:
The remaining filter capacity is displayed.
Note: The various filter cartridges can be ordered at
www.grohe.com.
Set carbonate hardness at filter head, see Fig. [10].
The relevant water supplier can provide information on the
carbonate hardness.
Set carbonate hardness at bypass setting of filter head to local
conditions, see table column A on fold-out page II.

The remaining filter capacity is displayed.
The liter capacity of the cartridge varies according to the water
hardness set and the size of the cartridge, see table on
fold-out page II.
The cooler of the GROHE Blue
the 600 liter filter cartridge (Prod no.: 40 404) at the factory.
For operation with the 3,000 liter filter cartridge (Prod. no.: 40 412)
or 1,500 liter filter cartridge (Prod. no.: 40 430), the cooler must be
adapted.
The fitting with cooler is now fully installed and ready for
operation.

Maintenance

Resetting filter capacity after changing filter cartridge, see
fold-out page II, Fig. [8].

• Press and hold button until rF flashes in the display
• Release the button until rF stops flashing
• Release the button:
The remaining filter capacity is reset and then displayed
again.
Restore factory settings, see Fig. [8].
Reset buttons to factory settings:
• Press and hold the buttons simultaneously until PA
appears in the display
• Release the button pressed until PA starts flashing,
HC lights up and fitting and cooler must be synchronised
with one another
• Blue ® handle synchronisation starts; HC appears in the
display and the Blue ® handle lights up red.
• As soon as the Blue ® handle lights up green, open the fitting
fully by turning the Blue ® handle.
• As soon as the Blue ® handle briefly flashes green, close the
fitting by turning the Blue ® handle, HC flashes in the display.
• Confirm the setting by pressing the
appears.
• Release the button.
The remaining filter capacity is displayed.
Important:
Risk of damage!
Always disconnect the power supply before carrying out
maintenance work on the system. The plug-in connector
can then be disconnected, see fold-out page II, Figs. [6]
and [7].
Inspect and clean all components and replace if necessary.
Assemble in reverse order.
