1
Mode of Operation
Portable receivers R-12 are part of a calling system. A base station transmits information to R-12.
It should be noted that for applications that could put human life at risk, by using radio connection there is always
present a potential hazard due to extraneous disturbances.
It is forbidden to modify or change component parts of this product!
2
Range of operation
Inside of buildings there are various technical conditions that may influence strongly the range of operation. Nevertheless up to 80m
meters may be reached with the DMS-12 / Minicall12. In case the range of operation should be enhanced, you may insert repeaters
as an integral part of the system.
The range may be reduced for the following reasons:
Buildings, vegetation or any other objects will substantially reduce the operating range.
The distance between the antenna and the human body or other conducting objects (e.g. Earth)
"Background electrical noise" could be relatively high so that the signal-to-noise-ratio decreases and there for the range.
Also other devices, with similar operating frequency, located within the neighbourhood may disturb the receiver.
Operating the receiver next to inadequately shielded electronic boards or other devices (e.g. PC's) that produce electromagnetic
radiation, can substantially reduce the range of operation and could result in an apparent intermittent
It is forbidden to modify, change or manipulate component parts of the product!

Description of Operation
The R-12 permanently has contact with the base station and gets all information there. An incoming call may be accepted in order to
signalize to the system that this call will be processed. At all other R-12 inside the system this call will be deleted. Calls and messages
are displayed alphanumerically and are announced acoustically and by selectable vibration. It is possible to transmit a special call if
further help is needed.
R-12 contains already the rechargable batteries needed. Just pull the isolation strip below the battery cover and you will hear the
switch on melody. Under the condition that R-12 is already programmed at the base station, the time and the received radio field
strength as well as the battery state is displayed.
If you purchased R-12 without pre configuration please refer to the base stations manual.
When R-12 is not manipulated within 10 seconds the display decreases to half power and after some more seconds it switches off
completely. Press any push button to reactivate the display.
The reception of messages immediately switches on the display and show it directly independent of the selected menu. Only if you are
manipulating the receiver at this moment you may select the menu points Calls or Messages manually.
In order to reset an activated call at the call buttons T-12, MT-12 or WT-12 the receiver R-12 is equipped with a magnet. Please pass
the device as shown in the figure.
If the permanent contact with the base station stops for several cycles, the portable
receiver reports a radio interruption by means of a sound and vibration alarm.
In case of a radio interruption no calls can be received. Make sure that no radio
interruption occurs during operation. Repositioning existing repeaters or adding
new repeaters may increase the radio range.
