Start-up of CANview

Start-up is carried out by connecting the RS232 and the CAN connections as well
as the current supply (follow the notes on page 11!).

5. Select an entry in the "VCI Device ID" (device identifier) menu which corre-
sponds to your target software (ecolog 100plus, CANmon or Downloader).
It is possible to switch between the CANview VCI driver and a possibly installed
VCI driver of another CAN interface.
This function enables simultaneous driver installation but not simultaneous
operation of the CAN interfaces.

1. Start Windows and insert the CD-ROM
into your CD drive.
As an alternative to the CD-ROM the driver
can also be downloaded from the Internet:
www.ifm-electronic.com
2. Start the "setup.exe" file from the "CAN-
view" CD-ROM directory or from your down-
load directory and follow the instructions of
the set-up program.
After installation the new entry "ifm elec-
tronic Software / VCI Configurator" is in the
start menu.
3. Open the program and select the "Use ifm
VCI Emulation" button.
This step is compulsory after the program has
been installed to activate the CANview VCI
driver.
4. Check and if necessary correct the inter-
face parameters of the serial interface used.
