3

4
the cable-management arm.
Close the cable cover and tighten the captive Phillips screw.

Completing the Cable Connections

If desired, connect the keyboard, trackball, and monitor extension cables provided in
1
the 1-U KMM tray kit to the corresponding cables emerging from the cable-
management arm.
Complete the cable connections as appropriate.
2

Replacing the Rack Doors

See the procedures for removing doors in the documentation provided with your rack
cabinet.
CAUTION: Because of the size and weight of the rack cabinet doors, never
attempt to remove or install them by yourself.

Removing the 1-U KMM Tray From the Rack

Pull the tray out until it is stopped by the lockout buttons located on each side of the
1
tray.
Reinstall the shipping screws and brackets that you removed from the tray during the
2
installation procedure. See Figure 1-6.
The brackets provide support in the middle of the tray while the tray is removed from
the rack and transported.
CAUTION: If you do not have the original shipping brackets and screws, ensure
that the tray is manually supported in the middle while removing and
transporting it. Do not try to remove and transport the tray by holding it at the
front and back only.
To completely remove the tray, depress both lockout buttons simultaneously as the
3
tray is drawn out of the rack. This task is most easily performed by two people, one
working at each side of the tray. See Figure 1-11.
