BRAkE AND TYRE MAINTENANCE
The tyres are not filled completely during the transport on account of safety
reasons. Before you fill the tyre, push along the cover and tube over the rim.
Caution! Incorrect seating on the rim can lead to damage or even explosion of the
tube! While filling the tyre, ensure that the tube expands within the cover without
any lumps. The tyre should have 2.0 bar pressure. Remember that a permanent-
ly too high or too low air pressure can damage tube, cover or rim!
The brake system is pre-mounted and pre-adjusted. However, ensure before
each use that the brake system is functioning properly. If the brake effect is not
enough, it can be readjusted. There are several options for this that range from
brake lever to brake. With the set screw (16), you can adjust the distance of the
brake lever from the grip. Tighten it to increase the distance; loosen it to reduce
the distance. The screw is for ensuring your child's correct gripping position. A
change in it may change the brake effect slightly. Tightening the screw will give
the lever more play. Loosening the screw will reduce the play and therefore en-
hance the braking effect. The adjusting nuts (15/18) change the play of the brake
cable. If you turn it towards the cable, the cable play reduces and the brake gets
engaged. You can also tighten the set screws (20) further. This influences the
band brake directly. The brake section presses close to the axle if you screw it in
and releases accordingly if you loosen the screws. If all these options exhausted,
the wire gearing can be shortened. The nut (22) must be loosened to make the
brake cable tauter (Ill. 4 & Ill. 5). Take help from an expert if you are not able to
adjust the brakes. Faulty functioning of the brake can lead to serious injuries or
damages!
