SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

Apple MAC computer with at least MAC OS or
OS X 10.9. and a USB-A port. An internet con-
nection is required for installing the software
and any potential updates. Running the soft-
ware does not need an internet connection.
Displaying and processing the protocol requires
software that can read Excel files, e.g. Microsoft
Excel or Apple Numbers.
Also necessary is a GAMMA-SCOUT® with firm-
ware version 6.1 or later.

SOFTWARE INSTALLATION

Download the software from the
SCOUT.COM website. The software is delivered
as a compressed zip. file. If the browser does not
unzip the file automatically, double-left click
on the file in your download directory. This
will unzip the software. Once opened, the soft-
ware is immediately ready for use and can be
launched with a double click. It is, however,
recommended to move the software into
the program folder. Click and hold on the
program icon and drag the file into the program
folder.
If you would like quick access to the program,
you can put a link on your dock. Click and drag
the program icon to the preferred location on
your dock.

USING THE SOFTWARE

1. Connect the GAMMA-SCOUT® to your
computer with the cable supplied.
2. Start GAMMA - SCOUT READER® by clicking
on the program icon on the desktop or by
double clicking on the program icon in the
program folder.
3. The software establishes a connection to
GAMMA-SCOUT® and then displays the firm-
ware, serial number, date and time of your
device.
4. Click on transfer protocol.
5. Select where you want to save the protocol.
Click on the down-arrow to the right of the
file name to enlarge the dialogue box and
see your favorites, devices and authoriza-
tions. Click bottom-right on "save" once you
have selected the file location and file name.

6. The protocol will be transferred from your
device. While this is happening, your GAMMA-
SCOUT® will display the message "PCon" and
the transfer symbol will blink. This process can
take several minutes, depending on how many
protocol entries are on your device. You can
stop the process at any time by clicking on
cancel.
7. Once the transfer has been completed, GAMMA -
SCOUT READER® can open the protocol
automatically for you using a compatible
software program or display it in Finder. If
you do not want that, simply click on OK.

SET DATE AND TIME

If the time or date on your GAMMA-SCOUT® differs
from your system time, you will be asked if you
want to set the time when you connect the
device and/or start the software. If you select
"yes", the time and date on your GAMMA-SCOUT®
will be reset. Selecting "no" skips this step.
