Installation

In order to prevent personal injury, always
disconnect the electrical supply during instal-
lation of, and when carrying out maintenance
on, the bow and/or stern thruster.
Position the receiver as far as possible away
from large metal objects and electric motors.
Remove the receiver from the assembly
plate (2 screws).
Set the assembly plate aside in a suitable
place.
Connect the receiver as shown in the wiring
diagrams.
Check its operation.
If the reception from the transmitter
is not sufficiently strong, for example
if the receiver is positioned below the
deck in a steel ship, an optional external
antenna can be connected.

Operation

3.1
Receiver
Turn on the power to the receiver. The green
LED (POWER) will come on and remain on. The
red LED will come on after 1 second; this will go
off again after 15 seconds. The receiver is now
ready for use.
When the transmitter is being used, the cor-
responding yellow LED (OUT1, OUT2, etc.) will
come on.
3.2
Transmitter
Hold the 'ON' button on the transmitter pressed
in for 2 seconds.
The LED on the transmitter will flash and the
remote control is ready for use.
The LED on the transmitter will remain on while
one of the buttons is pressed.
The maximum distance between the transmit-
ter and the receiver to guarantee that it will
function correctly is 15 metres (50 ft).
RCM2: 1 appliance can be operated using the 2
buttons.
RCM4: 2 appliances can be operated using the
4 buttons.
It will take about 1.5 seconds for the receiver to
react when an opposite action button (Port <>
Starboard) is pressed.
Both a bow and a stern thruster can be oper-
ated simultaneously with the RCM4.
The transmitter will go off automatically after
about 2 minutes when it is not used.
N.B. The receiver remains switched on.

Replacing batteries

Open the transmitter; there are 6 screws at the
back. Replace the batteries; 2 x AAA. Make sure
the polarity is correct. Putting the batteries in
the wrong way round does not damage the re-
mote control but it will not work! Replace the
back and tighten the screws.
