Using the SmartThings Wifi/Hub
Notices for connecting a SmartThings Wifi/Hub
• I nstall a SmartThings Wifi/Hub near the devices to be registered.
• W hen you add additional SmartThings Wifi/Hubs, install them within the connection
range.
• D o not place obstacles between the SmartThings Wifi/Hub and the devices to be
registered.
• O bstacles such as the human bodies, walls, corners, or fences can weaken the signals.
• W hen using the SmartThings Wifi/Hub, it should be connected via the Ethernet cable.
Notices for using Bluetooth
• T o avoid problems when connecting your SmartThings Wifi/Hub to another device, place
the devices close to each other.
• E nsure that your SmartThings Wifi/Hub and the other Bluetooth device are within the
maximum Bluetooth range (5 m). The distance may vary depending on the environment
the devices are used in.
• E nsure that there are no obstacles between the SmartThings Wifi/Hub and a connected
device, including human bodies, walls, corners, or fences.
• D o not touch the Bluetooth antenna of a connected device.
• B luetooth uses the same frequency as some industrial, scientific, medical, and low power
products and interference may occur when making connections near these types of
products.
• S ome devices, especially those that are not tested or approved by the Bluetooth SIG, may
be incompatible with your SmartThings Wifi/Hub.
• D o not use the Bluetooth feature for illegal purposes (for example, pirating copies of files
or illegally tapping communications for commercial purposes).
