6 Summer mode

6.1 Functions
At high room temperatures, the aquarium temperature may rise well
above the set level. The Duomat Evolution intervenes immediately in
such cases, actuating the bed heater automatically at 'intelligent'
intervals (without raising the aquarium temperature to any noticeable
extent).
This summer mode* has been specially developed by DENNERLE to
ensure that the circulation of nutrients in the bed continues on hot
summer days, too.
How Summer mode works - example

7 Night-time temperature reduction
7.1 Functions
The night-time temperature reduction function automatically lowers
the aquarium temperature by a certain temperature difference for a
period of 10 hours. The temperature difference and the starting time
can be set by the user. During the cooling phase the bed heating is
operated automatically for short bursts, so as to ensure a continued
flow of water through the bed.
In this way, the Duomat Evolution simulates the temperature pattern to
which tropical fish and plants are accustomed from their natural
habitat. Tests have shown that the night-time temperature reduction
promotes fishes' well-being, vitality and spawning instincts while at
the same time stimulating plant growth.
7.2 Night-time temperature reduction ON / OFF
• To switch on:
(1) Press key - the blue LED FLASHES.
Enter the desired night-time temperature reduction in 0.5 °C
steps (max. 3 °C) with "+" and "–".
Shortly afterwards, the starting time will appear on the display.
(2) Now enter the desired starting time with "+" and "–".
LED goes ON.
• To switch off:
Press key, then use "
"0".
LED goes OFF.
Recommended starting time: In order to achieve the most natural pos-
sible temperature pattern in the aquarium, we recommend setting the
starting time to one hour after the lighting goes off. Example: Lights
off at 10 p.m. Starting time for night-time temperature reduction 11
a.m.
Note: The aquarium temperature can only drop if the room tempera-
ture is lower than the aquarium temperature (which is normally the
case). In the case of very large or very well insulated aquaria, it may
prove impossible to attain the desired drop in temperature.
7.3 Setting the time
• Press key - current time appears on display
