Attention:
The viaBOX is mandatory for eligible vehicles while
using the viaTOLL system. The viaBOX is issued
during the registration process for participation in
the viaTOLL system.
Vehicle data is encrypted in the viaBOX unit
assigned during the registration. When transporting
the viaBOX in another vehicle use special protective
plastic available at any Customer Service Facility.
The viaBOX is designed for use in vehicles
with a non-metalized windscreen or metalized
windscreen with non metalized area.
Vehicles with a fully metalized windscreen should use
the viaBOX with an external antenna called "viaBOX-2".
A trailer has to be declared with viaBOX for
– light vehicles with trailer with combined
maximum permissible gross vehicle weight
(MPGVW) above 3.5 tons
as well as;
– heavy vehicles with MPGVW exceeding 3.5
tons but less than 12 tons for which combined
MPGVW for both tractor and a trailer (semi-trailer)
is equal or above 12 tons.

Scope of Supply:

Check that all items listed in the following scope of
supply have been received and are not damaged:
1. viaBOX
2. viaBOX guide (User Manual)
3. Brief instructions as adhesive label
4. Cleaning wipe, (2) self-adhesive strips.
Installation:
A Unpack viaBOX and attach the adhesive label
containing the brief instructions onto the upper part
of viaBOX.

B1 Preparation of viaBOX installation in heavy vehicles
and buses: viaBOX shall be mounted on the inside
surface of the windscreen. Prior to mounting, the
area should be cleaned using the enclosed cleaning
wipe. The installation area is located at the bottom
part of the inside windscreen between the centre
of the vehicle and the steering wheel. The viaBOX
must not be installed within the drivers visual fi eld.
The vehicle driver is responsible for the correct
installation of viaBOX!
B2 Preparation of viaBOX installation in light vehicles:
viaBOX shall be mounted on the inside surface of
the windscreen. Prior to mounting, the area should
be cleaned using the enclosed cleaning wipe. The
installation area is located behind the rear view
mirror. Refer to light vehicle manufacturer manual to
fi nd out special area to mount such a kind of device
(e.g. dotted area on the top of the windscreen
left and right of the rear view mirror). The viaBOX
must not be installed within the drivers visual fi eld.
The vehicle driver is responsible for the correct
installation of viaBOX!
C Remove the protective foil from the strips and
attach the adhesive side of the strip onto the
designated surface on the fl at side of viaBOX.
D1+D2 Remove the protective foil from the reverse side
of the strips and attach viaBOX onto the cleaned
area of the front windscreen. The windscreen wipers
in a resting position should not obstruct the viaBOX.
Use:
Following this simple installation, viaBOX is now
properly mounted and ready for use.
viaBOX can be removed and re-attached at any time
due to the tape fastener.
After removing viaBOX, handling is simple. viaBOX
