Safety precautions

Hazard-free working with the battery is only
possible if you read the operating and safety
instructions completely and strictly observe
them.
Danger of death by electrocution!
Do not open up the battery casing.
Do not open up the battery and protect from
impacts, heat and fire.
Danger of explosion!
Do not expose the battery to rain; do not
clean with sprays or steam jets.
It is very important that the battery terminals
do not come into contact with each other.
For this reason, the battery should never
be stored together with loose metal objects
which could damage the insulation on the
plug and/or cable and/or the protective cov-
er/casing, or which could come into contact
with the plug contacts.
The battery cable must not be connected to
the welder if the charger cable is connected.
‰ Service and repair work may only be carried out by a
trained electrician.
‰ Use only the charger designed for use with the battery.
Other chargers could damage the battery.
‰ Make sure that the battery and the charger have ad-
equate cooling during the charging process.
‰ Place the battery and the charger on a non-flammable
surface during the charging process.
‰ At the end of the charging process, isolate the charger
plug from the battery and unplug the mains plug from
the socket.
‰ Do not use petrol or other highly flammable fluids for
cleaning the battery and the charger.
‰ If the battery or the charger are not to be used for an
extended period, the charging plug and the mains plug
must be disconnected.
‰ Close the covering cap on the battery cable when not
being used.
‰ If fluid comes out of the battery or the charger, please
note the following: Avoid contact with skin and the
eyes. If fluid does enter your eyes or gets on your skin,
wash thoroughly with water and consult a doctor.
‰ If you detect any leaks, smells of soot, heating, discol-
ouration, deformation or other anomalies when oper-
ating, charging or storing the equipment, remove the

battery immediately from the unit or the charger and
stop using it.
