Theory of Operation
The program of the Automatic Controller 97103 provides various selection directorys for the
controlling of connection units within the framework of a multi-functional dispensing system.
For the activation of the necessary connection units, the individual points of the main directory
PERPHERY SETUP – separately in each case for the dispensing channel A or dispensing channel B –
are activated one after the other in the digital display (see Section 2.3.2).
Depending on the dispensing task, the required connection units are activated in the individual
directory points ( [ [ 1 1 ] ] = ON). A connection unit that is not required must be deactivated ( [ [ 0 0 ] ] = OFF).
The automatic control takes into consideration only the activated connection units also when
additional deactivated units [ [ 0 0 ] ] are installed. This makes possible the variable selection of different
equipment combinations from the installed dispensing system appropriate for the dispensing task in
each case.
When the periphery directory is closed, the activated connection units are automatically controlled if
they are operationally ready.
When a unit that was activated in the periphery directory is not installed or is not operational ready, a
error message is generated after the completion of the next dispensing sequence. The error
messages are displayed in the digital display and signaled with a beeping tone in some cases. The
error messages in the upper line of the digital display apply for the dispensing channel A. The error
messages in the lower line of the digital display apply for the dispensing channel B (see Chapter 7).
Error and ready messages are also made available as potential-free electrical signals.
In the directory MANUAL OPERATION, the automatic dispensing sequence can be controlled in
individual phases or as a complete sequence to make fine adjustments.
All adjustments and setup activities in the main directory PERIPHERY SETUP as well as in the
directory MANUAL OPERATION should be performed only by authorized setup personnel!
