4.1 OPERATING THE TOOL

a) Sealing
– Place the sealer OR-V 40 P on top of the seal.
– Actuate the lever, the seal is notched.
Do not put your fingers into the sealing area!
– Check the seal (see chapter 4.2).
b) Turning of sealer unit (see Fig. 1b)
– Disconnect sealer from air supply.
– Loosen four cylinder screws, pos. 50 (see explosion
drawing, page 22).
– Loosen screw, pos. 38, and lever, pos. 12.
– Turn sealer unit 90 , and install all parts.

4.2 CHECKING THE SEAL

– To obtain the maximum seal efficiency, the notches
have to be cut properly into the seal (Fig. 2/1).
1 Good seal (seal is evenly notched and the notches
are deep enough)
2 Poor seal
3 Poor seal
In case of faulty seals, the following parts subject to
wear must be replaced (see chapter 5.1):
– Notcher, Jaws, Bolts.

5.1 REPLACING JAWS AND NOTCHER
Removal
– Disconnect sealer from air supply.
– Remove two lock washers (3/8) and remove cylin-
der screws (3/1).
– Remove two counter sunk screws (3/4) and remove
both side plates (3/3).
– Remove four bolts (3/6) and (3/7). Clean and if
necessary replace jaws (3/2) and notcher (3/5).
Installation
– Install the parts in reverse order.
