Three values are stored in the memory: Press the MEM button to
display the maximum value, the minimum value and the last
measured value respectively.
8. Measuring Tips
8.1 Reflective Tape (Velleman DTO-RS/10, optional)
Cut a square of tape of ± 1 cm² and attach it to the target surface.
 The piece of tape should never cover more than half of the target
area.
 A target surface that is reflective of its own accord should be
painted black or covered with black tape prior to applying the
tape.
 Make sure the target surface is smooth and clean when you apply
the tape.
8.2 Measuring Low RPMs
It is fairly easy to measure fast speeds. When measuring extremely
low rpm's you would do well to apply several squares of tape to the
target surface. You can then divide the displayed value by the
number of squares.
Also note that this technique makes for more precise measurements
as the measuring error is now also divided by the number of squares
of tape.
9. Cleaning and Maintenance
 The IR sensor is the most delicate part of the device and it shall
be kept clean at all times. To do this, only use a soft cloth or
cotton bud with a little water or medical alcohol.
 Allow the lens to fully dry before using the device.
 Wipe the other parts of the device regularly with a moist, lint-free
cloth. Do not use alcohol or solvents.
 Do not submerge the device in water or any other liquid.
 There are no user-serviceable parts. Contact your dealer for spare
parts if necessary.
 The device shall be stored between –20° C and +65° C (–4° F to
+149° F).
