• If the Stove Alarm is installed higher than 65 cm (25.5'') above
the cooker top, the sensitivity level needs to initially be set to
a more sensitive level (after which it will self-adjust to the en-
vironment and to the cooking style(s)). If you are not certain
whether the level was pre-set, set it again (see section 6).
• The Stove Alarm does not always signal immediately in a
hazardous situation. This is because it needs to take into
account different cooking scenarios, including frying at high
temperatures, and not trigger too easily. The Stove Alarm
alarm triggers when a certain temperature (or rate of in-
crease) is reached, long before ignition of a fire. If you would
rather have the Stove Alarm to react earlier, increase the
Alarm's sensitivity (see the next point).
• The Stove Alarm sensitivity can be increased. First check the
setting (as instructed in section 6) then increase the sensitivi-
ty by one or two levels.
I accidentally reset the pre-alarm signal even though the alarm was
triggered by a hazardous situation. Has the Stove Alarm now be-
come too insensitive?
• Resetting the pre-alarm signal changes the Stove Alarm's
sensitivity but only to such a small extent, that even if it
would be accidentally changed for a couple of times, the
Alarm would not become too insensitive.
