Before first Use

Remove the hedge trimmer and the accessory from the packaging. Dispose off
packaging materials out of reach of small children. There is risk of suffocation!
The electronics protects the battery from over-charging, over-heating and total
discharge. There is no loss of charge. The battery is characterised by low self-
discharge. A fully charged battery is always ready for use, even if you do not use
it for months.

Charging the Battery

Charge the battery before first use.
In contrast to Ni-Ca or MH batteries lithium-ion batteries do not have a memory
effect. The capacity of other batteries decreases steadily but the capacity of
lithium-ion batteries does not decrease. The capacity remains constantly until the
electronics interrupts discharging. The unit will stop abruptly, if the charging level
of the battery falls below a certain value.
If desired, use the mounting holes of the charging base in order to mount the
base on the wall. Please mount the charging base in the vicinity of a power mains
socket.
Regardless of the charging condition, the battery can be charged at any time
without damaging the cells.
1. Connect the power cord of the charger with a wall
socket and the charging socket (10) of the hedge
trimmer. The indicator light POWER lights up.
Insert the battery into the charger base until it locks
audibly. The battery fits only in one position into the
charging base. The charging indicator lamp (12)
lights up red and indicates that the battery is
charged.
After charging the battery for approx. 3 – 5 hours,
the charging indicator lamp lights up green.
2. Remove the battery from the charging base by
pressing both releasing buttons (7) inwards. Pull
out the battery from the charging base.
3. Unplug the power cord of the charging base from
the wall socket.
