The unit must be installed by qualifi ed personnel according to the local safety regulations in force.
Where to install the unit.
• Install the unit in a dry place and in an area protected from atmospheric agents.
• Humidity, such as condensation, might damage the unit. In the event of condensation, allow the unit
to dry before using it.
• Leave some space around the unit to ensure ventilation. Excessive temperatures and/or excessive
heat can lower the performance and the life of the unit.
• Do not install the unit above or close to heating sources, in a dusty area or where it might enter into
contact with corrosive substances.
Grounding the antenna installation: the DIN bar, where the unit will be installed, must be collected to
the ground electrode of the antenna installation according to the EN50083-1 norm, paragraph 10. We
recommend following the provisions of the EN 50083-1 norm and not to connect the DIN bar to the
protection grounding of the power network.
IMPORTANT: only authorized personnel can open the unit. Do not try to repair the unit; otherwise, the
guarantee will no longer be valid. Cut power off before servicing the unit.
The KDTR is a digital receiver for the distribution of terrestrial digital programs transmitted free-to-air
with OFDM modulation. It receives an OFDM digital multiplex from which it extracts audio and video
signals transmitted from a transmitted free-to-air program. These signals generate a channel that will
later be distributed, using a standard TV distribution network. The version of the unit with A/V outlets
can be connected to external modulators.
The modules are installed on a standard DIN bar and are supplied by the KP feeders of the K series.
They are programmed by a TPE programmer. See fig. 1 to spot the TV signal input (from the antenna),
the demixed output of the TV signal to other modules, the RCA outputs with the A/V signals, the input
of the self-mixing line and the output of the generated signal. The KDTR-AV version doesn't have a
RF output - only RCA outputs.

The number of modules that can be connected in demixing depends on the frequency and level
of the input signal. To make the installation of the KPN51 rigid bridges easier, to ensure a proper
ventilation of modules and to make the installation operation easier, we recommend using the black
plastic spacers included in the packaging. They must be connected to the clip hook and are used to
