1. Hardware Installation

1.1 Cable connections
Insert the plug of the USB cable into the Interface Connector of drive.
Press firmly until the Interface Connector is seated correctly.
For Windows 98SE only: Do not connect the USB cable into the
computer. Install first the pre-install program.
1.2 Power Connection
Make sure the Power Source Switch is at the correct position.
USB2.0: You may have to connect the external USB power cable
to power the hard disk drive, make sure the Power
Source Switch at the back of the harddisk drive, is at the
'SELF' position, then connect the external USB
power cable to the USB port and on the other side to the
outlet.
USB1.1: Usually, no external power is needed for this external
hard disk, make sure the Power Source Switch at the
back of the harddisk drive, is at the 'USB' position.
