Safety Instructions

• Read all instructions before use.
• Keep these instructions in a safe place for later use.
• Follow all warnings and instructions marked on the product.
• Unplug this product from wall socket before cleaning. Externally
clean with a damp cloth using a mild soap and water solution.
Do not use abrasives or petroleum-based cleaners.
• This product should never be placed near a radiator or heat
source.
• Operate from the type of power source indicated on the marking
label. If you are not sure of the type of power available, consult
your dealer or local electricity board.
• Do not allow anything to rest on the power cord.
• If an extension cord is used with this product, make sure that
the total of the amp ratings on the products plugged into the
extension cord do not exceed the extension cord amp rating.
• Do not attempt to service this product yourself, as it may expose
you to dangerous live parts or other risks.
• Unplug this product and refer servicing to qualified personal:
- When the power cord or plug is damaged or frayed
- If liquid has been spilled on the product
- If the product has been exposed to rain
- If the product does not operate normally when the operating
instructions are followed.
- If the product has been dropped or casing has been damaged.
• Regularly empty the bin so the shredder output is not impeded.
• The machine should only be fed with paper. Shredding other
types of materials may be unsafe and could damage the
shredder.
• Keep all loose articles of clothing e.g. ties and jewelry and long
hair away from the shredder mouth.

Installation

• Refer to assembly instructions printed on carton box.
• Only operate this product from the type of power source
indicated on the marking label.
• Install the paper shredder so that the plug is easily
accessible.
• The shredder must only be operated in the upright position.
• Position the paper shredder so that the ventilation slots
are unobstructed. For sufficient ventilation of the shredder,
ensure there is a minimum distance of 5cm to the wall or
nearby furniture.

Operation

Connect power cord to the power socket at the right side
of the machine. Connect the power cord to any standard
230V AC, 50Hz outlet.
Prepare internal shredder waste basket
• Open cabinet door and pull the waste basket completely out
of the cabinet.
• Put plastic waste bag in basket (AS3000 Rexel reorder code:
40095). Allow bag to overhang the edge of the internal bin.
• Slide the waste basket into the cabinet and shut the cabinet
door.
Switching the shredder "ON" (fig.2)
• Turn on the power switch at right side of the machine.
• The LCD panel indicates machine is ready for shredding.
Note: the display indication is always shown for unlocked
paper tray doors.
Depending on the quantity of paper the shredding operation
can be performed either by auto or manual feeding:
Auto feed of up to 500 sheets of paper

Open doors (fig.3a)
Place maximum 500 sheets of paper into the tray.
Close doors (fig.3b)
Press "START" button. The machine starts shredding
automatically sheet by sheet.
The machine automatically stops when all sheets have been
successfully shredded.
Manual feed of up to 6 sheets of paper (fig.4)

Insert a maximum of 6 sheets of paper into the paper feed
opening; shredding begins automatically. When shredding
is complete, the cutting system automatically stops after
approximately 3 seconds.
Forward / Reverse operation to clear paper jam
(fig.5a & 5b)
If a paper jam occurs, press and hold the "Reverse" button to
retrieve paper out of the paper entry. Try pulling gently on the
paper to remove it from the shredder.
Alternate between forward and reverse until the jam clears.
Caution: To avoid damaging the shredder, do not
alternate too quickly between forward and
reverse.
If the shredder is still jammed having attempted to clear the
jam using reverse and forward functions, unplug the shredder,
open the cabinet door, remove the wastebasket and carefully
clear any shreds of paper that have collected on underside of
the cutters. Use extreme care when removing paper shreds
from underneath the cutters.
Caution: The machine has exposed blades on underside
of paper entry. Use care when removing
shredded paper.
