user's Manual
c
attention
• Carefully read the entire user's manual before first use and
keep it with the appliance so that the user can learn about the
appliance. If you lend or sell the appliance to somebody, include
this user's manual with it. Prevent this user's manual from being
damaged.
blender jar lid and caP
M
Fig. A, position 2) on to the blender jar so
• Place the lid (
that it is correctly seated.
A correctly seated lid prevents blended ingredients from leaking,
especially at start up, therefore always use the blender with the
lid attached.
M
• Insert the cap (
Fig. A, position 1) into the lid so that it is
locked in place.
• The cap may also be used as a funnel for adding additional
ingredients into the blended mix.
blender bladeS
• A standard accessory to the blender is a blade suitable for
blending ingredients into liquid form, e.g. juices, frozen
mixtures, creams, sauces, soups, purée, and for chopping wet
ingredients, herbs, etc. It can also be used to chop and grind dry
ingredients, but not as efficiently.
PoWer cord
• The appliance is equipped with a power cord that is over one
metre long, making it possible to use the appliance away from
the power socket.
• Excess length of the power cord can be wound on to the plastic
holders located on the underside of the motor unit (if the
appliance has them).
IV. operating the Blender
• on/oFF button – switching to the "ON" position will turn the
appliance on, and switching to "OFF" will turn the appliance off.
• Speed control dial – set the motor speed as required.
• "PULSE" button – switch the button to the opposite position
for maximum motor speed.
• The "PULSE" function works even when the power switch is in
the "OFF" position.
c
attention
• The blender may be equipped with a safety feature that prevents
the appliance from being started if the blender jar is incorrectly
seated on motor unit of the blender.
• A slight odour may be emitted from the electric motor the first
couple of times it is used. This is perfectly normal on appliances
with high performance motors and is not a defect. This odour
will completely disappear after repeated use.
Setting the SPeed
• Always turn on the blender at low speed and gradually increase
the speed as needed. This is especially important when mixing
thick and hard ingredients, which first need to be chopped into
smaller pieces at a lower speed, after which the speed can be
gradually increased. Nevertheless, it is always necessary to add
thick and hard ingredients into the blender in smaller amounts
to prevent overloading of the motor unit.
c
attention
• Blending tough and hard ingredients for an extended time may
overheat the appliance.
• Use the higher speeds for blending ingredients that are not too
thick or tough. If possible, we recommend that you add some
water to tougher ingredients.
• A higher speed will reduce the time and increase the efficiency of
blending ingredients.
• At higher speeds, air circulates more intensively around the
motor, which acts as protection against it overheating.
• Watch the ingredients while blending them. If the mixture does
not circulate at the fastest speed, lower the speed making sure
not to overload the blender, which is indicated also by a heavier
motor noise.
Likewise, higher speeds may not be suitable for the consistency
of a given ingredient or the blades may jam. If material jams in
the blades, turn the appliance off, disconnect it from the power
source and remove the material from the blades.
c
attention
• Higher speed for blending a smaller amount of ingredients,
particularly loose ingredients, may not result in the most
efficient processing, as the centrifugal force will keep the
material on the wall of the blender jar.
taMPer tool
• The pusher is used to move stuck ingredients towards the blades
and is particularly useful when blending larger pieces that have
a tendency to become stuck in the blender jar.
c
attention
• Always use the pusher with the lid firmly seated by pushing it
through the cap hole, because only in this way is the pusher
prevented from touching the blades.
• Use the pusher if the jar is filled to a maximum of 2/3 of its
volume.
Do not use the pusher continuously for longer than 30 seconds
to prevent overloading the motor by the ingredients being
pushed down.
• The best way to release non-moving ingredients is by moving the
pusher along the wall of the blender jar.
