Parental lock level: each DVD has a certain parental lock level.

0 Unlock – no lock
1 Kid Safe – child-safe
2 G – for all age groups
3 PG – not suitable for children
4 PG 13 – not suitable for adolescents under 13
5 PG R – not suitable for adolescents under 16
6 R - adolescents under 17 only accompanied by adults
7 NC 17 – not suitable for adolescents under 17
8 Adult – only suitable for adults
Question: Why is REGION ERROR displayed after I have inserted a DVD?
Answer:Both the DVD player as well as the DVDs each have a regional code. If they are not the same,
the DVD can not be played.
Here are the 6 regional codes of the MPAA:
