General notes
In order to ensure the water quality of the dis-
pensed water, only drinking water from a public wa-
ter utility may be used. Here, the quality must com-
ply with at least the guideline of the World Health
Organization (WHO).
If the drinking water supply must be tapped to in-
stall the appliance, this must be performed by
trained expert personnel that is in possession of a
permit that meets the local laws and regulations.
This work must be ordered by the customer if re-
quired.
To protect from water damage caused by a burst
water supply hose, we recommend the installation
of a Shut-off-valve and an aqua stop (sold sepa-
rately) in the water supply line.
Care tasks on the inside of the device may only be
performed by the operator of the device, who has
read these operating instructions.
Do not clean the device with a water stream.
Plastic surfaces must not be cleaned with alcohol-
containing, aggressive or abrasive detergents.
The surface cleaner CA 30 R (6.295-686.0) is rec-
ommended.

Environmental protection

The packaging material can be recycled.
Please do not throw the packaging materi-
al into household waste; please send it for
recycling.
Old appliances contain valuable materials
that can be recycled; these should be sent
for recycling. Batteries, oil, and similar sub-
stances must not enter the environment.
Please dispose of your old appliances us-
ing appropriate collection systems.

Proper use
The device is used to dispense chilled and un-
chilled drinking water of approved food quality in
self-service operations.
The device is equipped with an active carbon filter
(Active-Pure filter) and a UV filter (UV-Protect).
This device is not intended for use by persons (in-
cluding children) with reduced physical, sensory or
mental abilities or lacking experience and/or knowl-
edge, unless they are supervised by a person re-
sponsible for their safety or are instructed by these
persons on the use of the device. Children should
be supervised, to ensure that they do not play with
the device.
The appliance must be installed in frost-free rooms.
Do not use or park the device outdoors.
Do not lay down the device or store or transport it
in a horizontal position.
This appliance is intended to be used in
Household and similar applications.
Staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other
working environments.
Farmhouses.
Hotels, Motels, Bed and breakfast type environ-
ments and similar.
Catering and similar non-retail applications.

Connecting the appliance
During the initial installation and in case of repairs
that involve the replacement of accessory parts,
you must make sure that only the enclosed parts
are used. These parts are components that have
been released by KÄRCHER for installation. Never
use other components. These components have
been tested and certified to ensure compliance
with KÄRCHER Quality Standards
The power connection and the water input pres-
sure must conform to the data in the specifications.
Depending on local regulations, the installation of
an approved check-valve is required.
There must be an even surface available to install
the appliance.
Power plug and receptacle must be freely accessi-
ble after the installation.
Power switch, fuse and water connection at the
back of the device must be freely accessible. The
minimum distance to the wall is 100 mm.
In the interest of reducing power consumption, the
power supply can be switched off when the device
is not in use (e.g. using a timer clock).
Existing, old hose-sets should not be used.
The new hose-sets, supplied with the appliance,
should be used.
Function
From the water inlet, the water flows first through the ac-
tive carbon filter (for a description of the filters, see Con-
sumables) and the UV filter. Depending on the button
pressed, the water then flows through the cooling mod-
ule or directly to the water outlet.
The entire water system must be chemically cleaned at
regular intervals.

 Connect the water supply hose to the water con-
nection at the rear of unit.
 Connect power cable with the power supply on the
back of the device.

Opening the lateral filter cover
 Open the lock.
 Remove the lateral filter cover.
Insert filter
WARNING
Health risk due to the contamination with germs.
 When installing the filter cartridge, take special
care to ensure hygiene and cleanliness.
 Do not touch the connections of either the socket or
the filter.
 Wear sterile disposable gloves when installing the
filter.
 Insert the filter from below into the socket. Mind the
position of the tab.
 Turn the filter to the right all the way to the stop.
Initial startup
 Open the water supply.
 Set the appliance switch to "I".
 Rinse filter.
Operate the button for unchilled water.
The maximum dispensing time is limited to 60 sec-
onds. To resume the rinsing process, press the
button for unchilled water again.
 Perform the rinsing process for at least 10 minutes
(or approx. 20 litres).
 Then push the button for chilled water for at least 4
minutes (or 8 litres).
A chemical cleaning sequence must be performed after-
wards (see "Care and Maintenance/Chemical clean-
ing").
After that the device is ready for operation.
