b) Inserting the converter into a computer enclosure
If you are connecting the hard drive converter to a hard drive docking station, do
not connect the SATA cables (insert the SATA connectors on the product directly to
the connections on the docking station).
• Replace the computer enclosure.
• Connect your computer and monitor to the mains and turn on all connected devices.
• If your computer doesn't boot properly, turn it off immediately and check that all cables are
connected correctly.
Tips and important information
• The necessary drivers are already included in your operating system; separate drivers are
not provided.
• The hard drive converter supports plug and play and hot swapping, meaning that you can
remove the HDD/SSD when the operating system is running. Before removing the HDD/SSD,
wait until all read/write processes have finished and then unmount HDD/SSD safely from
your computer via the operating system. Failure to unmount the HDD/SSD may corrupt your
data, and you may need to reformat the drive.
• Hard drives with a capacity greater than 2 TB are not recognized by Windows
• The slide-in unit features an LED indicator. The LED turns blue when the product is ready to
use. It flashes purple when the drive is reading or writing data.

Maintenance and cleaning

• Always disconnect the product from the power supply before cleaning it.
• You do not need to carry out maintenance work on the product.
• Do not immerse the product in water.
• A dry, soft and clean antistatic cloth is sufficient for cleaning the exterior. Do not press too
hard on the casing, as this can lead to scratch marks.
• Never use aggressive detergents, rubbing alcohol or other chemical solutions, as these could
damage the casing or even impair the functioning of the product.
• Use a dry, lint-free cloth to clean the product.
• Open your PC enclosure and carefully remove
the enclosure cover.
• Find a free 8.89 cm (3.5") hard drive slot in
the enclosure and remove the front panel. You
may need to remove a metal plate underneath
the front panel. In some enclosures, the metal
plate must be unscrewed; on other models,
you can clip the plate out of the enclosure.
• Insert the product into the hard drive slot on
your enclosure. Ensure that the converter is
connected properly.
• Screw the product to the enclosure using the
4 screws provided.
• Connect the product to the mainboard using
the 7-pin SATA cable provided. Ensure
that the connector is inserted in the correct
orientation. Do not force the cable into the
mainboard. Refer to the instruction manual for
your mainboard for more information.
• Connect the product to the PC power adapter
using a 15-pin SATA cable (not included).
• If necessary, use cable binders to prevent
the cables from coming into contact with the
computer fan.
