Operation

The converter only converts the input signal into a HDMI signal. The screen
resolution will not be modified, so it has to be adjusted on the AV source or on
the computer, before use.
If a screen resolution is used that is not supported by the TV set/monitor, the
screen may remain dark or an error message may be displayed.
• Set the desired screen resolution on your AV source or on your computer.
• Switch on the converter using the PWR switch.
• The blue in-use display lights on the device's top.
• Select the HDMI input on your TV set or monitor (see operating instructions for the device con-
cerned).
• Start playback on your AV source or your computer.
In addition to the VGA resolutions listed in the „Technical Data", the converter
is also able of converting other resolutions into an appropriate HDMI signal. It
is possible that your TV set or monitor, which is connected to the converter,
does not support some of these additional resolutions.
In which case, the screen remains dark, malfunctions or displays error mes-
sages.
If this is the case, it is not a failure of the converter but a problem with your TV
set/monitor in combination with the screen resolution set on the computer.
In such a case, set one of the screen resolutions listed under „Technical Data".
Handling
• Never plug the power unit into a mains socket immediately after the device has been taken
from a cold into a warm environment. The condensation that forms might destroy your unit.
Allow the device to reach room temperature before connecting it. Wait until the condensation
has evaporated.
• Never unplug the power unit from the mains socket by pulling on the cable, always use the
grips on the plug.
• Unplug the power supply if you are not going to use the device for a while.
• For safety reasons, disconnect the power unit from the mains socket during electrical storms.

Elimination of Problems

By purchasing the VGA & YUV to HDMI Converter you have acquired a product with state of the
art design that is operationally reliable..
Nevertheless, problems or faults may occur.
Which is why we would like to describe here how to solve any problems:
Always follow the safety instructions!
The blue in-use display on top of the device does not light:
• Is the wall-plug transformer plugged in correctly?
• Is the mains socket for the plug-in transformer supplied with current ?
• Is the converter turned on?
No picture, no sound:
• Is the AV source or the computer switched on?
• Is the AV source or the computer connected correctly?
• Is the correct HDMI input selected on the TV set/monitor?
The picture is distorted or the screen remains dark:
• Is the resolution for VGA operation set on the computer also supported by the TV device/mon-
itor? For test purposes, set one of the standard resolutions listed in the „Technical Data".
• Is the resolution for YUV operation set on the AV source device also supported by the TV
device/monitor?
• Is there a strong source of interference e.g. an electric motor, radio device, etc. in the vicinity?
• Press the RESET button on the converter with a pointed object (e.g. paper clip), to reset the
built-in microprocessor.
Maintenance and Care
The converter does not have to be serviced and, except for occasional cleaning with a soft, dry
cloth, requires no maintenance whatsoever.
Disposal
Please dispose of the product, when it is no longer of use, according to the current
statutory requirements.
