3. Garantie
Sie erhalten 5 Jahre Garantie ab Kaufdatum auf Material- und Fabrikationsfehler des Produktes.
Die Garantie gilt nicht:
• im Falle von Schäden, die auf unsachgemässer Bedienung beruhen
• für Verschleissteile
• für Mängel, die dem Kunden bereits bei Kauf bekannt waren
• bei Eigenverschulden des Kunden
Die gesetzlichen Gewährleistungen des Kunden bleiben durch die Garantie unberührt. Für
Geltendmachung eines Garantiefalles innerhalb der Garantiezeit ist durch den Kunden der
Nachweis des Kaufes zu führen. Die Garantie ist innerhalb eines Zeitraumes von 5 Jahren ab
Kaufdatum gegenüber der Beurer GmbH & Co., Söflinger Straße 218, 89077 Ulm, geltend zu
machen. Der Kunde hat im Garantiefall das Recht zur Reparatur der Ware bei unseren eigenen
ober bei von uns autorisierten Werkstätten. Weitergehende Rechte werden dem Kunden (auf-
grund der Garantie) nicht eingeräumt.

1. Caution
- Protect your personal scales from impact with hard objects, moisture, dust, chemicals,
toiletries, liquid cosmetics, great temperature fluctuation and closeness to sources of
heat (open fires, radiators).
- Repairs may only be performed by Beurer Customer Service or by accredited retailers.

- All our personal scales comply with EU guideline 89/336 + relevant supplements. Should
you have any questions regarding operation and usage of our appliances, please contact
your local retailers or Beurer Customer Service.
- Cleaning: You can clean the scale with a damp cloth and a little washing up liquid, if
required. Never immerse the scale in water or rinse it under running water. The supplied
! bowl is dishwasher-proof.
- KS60 only: If necessary, a cloth dampened with a little vinegar may be used to clean the
stainless steel surface.
- Storage: Do not place any objects on the scale when not in use.
KS50 only: The scale is best stored either upside down in the bowl or with the bowl pla-
ced over it as protection.
- Strong electromagnetic fields (e.g. cell phones) may impair the accuracy of the scale.
- The scales can accept a maximum load of 5 kg. The weight measurement is displayed
in 1 g divisions.

2. Operation
2.1 Battery
The scale requires 4 1.5 V alkaline micro AAA batteries. Before the kitchen scale is used for
the first time, they have to be inserted with the right polarity into the battery compartment
situated underneath the scale. When „bat" appears in the display, the batteries need to be
replaced.
Spent batteries and rechargeable batteries do not constitute normal household waste! They are
considered to be toxic waste and, as such, should be disposed of in special
containers, toxic waste collection points or brought to electrical goods dealers.
Note: Batteries containing pollutant substances are marked as follows:
Pb = Battery contains lead, Cd = Battery contains cadmium, Hg = Battery con-
tains mercury.
Place the scale on a level and solid surface; this is important for ensuring that
the scale weighs correctly.
2.2 Weighing
Weights are displayed in 1g steps. Switch the scale on by pressing „on/tara/off". The weight cal-
culated last first of all appears in the display for approx. 1 second. „8888" first of all appears
followed by „0 g", indicating that the scale is now ready for weighing.
Weighing without a bowl
Place the item to be weighed directly on the scale. The weight thereof is displayed immediately.
Weighing with a bowl
The scale takes the weight of any vessel (bowl supplied with model KS50 or any other vessel)
you place onto it into account, even before it is turned on.
If you then remove the bowl from the scale, a minus weight (weight of bowl or vessel) appears
in the display! However, only up to – 999 g, after which „StP" is displayed. Press „on/tara/off" to
reset the scale to „0".
Add ingredients
If you add any further ingredients (e.g. baking ingredients), the scale displays the new total
weight. If you however wish to see the individual weights of the added ingredients, press
„on/tara/off" (adding function).
NOTE: „StOP" appears in the display if more than 5 kg in total is placed on the scale .
Weighing liquids
By pressing the button „g/dl" once, the scale can be changed from grams to decilitres.
Please note that the decilitres displayed are approximate values, as liquids have various specific
weights. – 100 g of water is equivalent to 1 dl of water – 1 decilitre (dl) is equivalent to 0.1
litre (l) or 100 millilitres (ml).
Automatic switch-off
If the kitchen scale is left unused for longer than approx. 90 seconds, it automatically switches
itself off! You can also turn the scale off manually by pressing the button „on/tara/off" for 3
seconds.
