Bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung
Das Produkt ist zum Anschluss an einen IBM-kompatiblen PC mit USB-Schnittstelle
vorgesehen und dient dort z.B. zur Bedienung des Betriebssystems.

Anschluss
Starten Sie Ihr Betriebssystem und warten Sie, bis es vollständig geladen ist.
Schieben Sie den USB-Stecker der Maus in einen USB-Port Ihres PCs. Besitzen Sie
z.B. einen USB-Hub, können Sie die Maus auch dort anstecken. Der PC braucht
dabei nicht ausgeschaltet werden (gilt nur speziell bei USB-Geräten!).
Treiber-Installation
Zum einwandfreien Betrieb über den USB-Port ist mindestens Windows 98 nötig. Es
gibt zwar auch eine Windows 95-Version, auf deren CD steht "...mit USB-
Unterstützung", diese ist aber nicht in der Lage, den Betrieb der Maus über USB
sicherzustellen.
Windows erkennt das Gerät automatisch. Folgen Sie allen Anweisungen von
Windows. Die nötigen Treiber-Dateien sind in Windows enthalten, deshalb liegt kei-
ne Treiber-Diskette bei!

The product is designed to be connected to an IBM-compatible PC with USB inter-
face, where it is used e.g. for navigating within the operating system.

Connecting the Device
Start your operating system and wait until it has been completely loaded.
Connect the mouse USB plug to a USB port of your PC. If you have a USB hub, for
example, you can also connect the mouse to this hub. When doing so, you need not
switch off the PC (applies to USB devices only!).
Installing Drivers
For trouble-free operation via the USB port, Windows 98 is required at the least. It
is true that there is a version of Windows 95 with "... with USB support" printed on
the CD. This version, however, is not capable of guaranteeing mouse operation via
USB.
Windows automatically recognizes the device. Please follow all the instructions
issued by Windows. Since Windows provides the driver files required, the scope of
delivery does not include a driver diskette!.

• Wenn Ihr Computer mehrere USB-Schnittstellen hat, so ist es unerheblich, in wel-
chen die Maus eingesteckt wird.

Wird die Maus abgesteckt (z.B. wenn der PC transportiert wird), so sollten Sie sie

später wieder an den gleichen USB-Port anstecken, da ansonsten evtl. die
Hardwareerkennung die Maus neu erkennt und die Treiberinstallation nochmals
nötig ist.
• Falls die Maus an einem USB-Hub nicht funktioniert, stecken Sie sie versuchs-
weise direkt an einen USB-Port Ihres PCs an.
• Falls die USB-Maus als Ersatz für eine herkömmliche RS232- oder PS/2-Maus die-
nen soll, so beachten Sie bitte, dass im abgesicherten Modus von Windows 98/ME
keine USB-Unterstützung besteht.
Das bedeutet, dass kein Mauszeiger erscheint und die Bedienung des
Betriebssystems ausschliesslich per Tastatur erfolgen muss!
Auch unter DOS arbeitet eine USB-Maus nicht.
• Möglicherweise bietet das BIOS/Setup Ihres PCs die Möglichkeit, eine am USB-
Port des Mainboards angeschlossene USB-Maus auch unter DOS (und evtl. im
abgesicherten Modus von Windows) zu betreiben.
• Der optische Sensor auf der Unterseite der Maus arbeitet auf manchen
Oberflächen nicht korrekt, z.B. auf Glas oder glänzenden, spiegelnden
Oberflächen.
Verwenden Sie dann ein geeignetes Mauspad.
• Kontrollieren Sie gelegentlich den optischen Sensor, ob sich Staubpartikel auf ihm
abgesetzt haben und entfernen Sie sie mit einem weichen Pinsel.

• If your computer is equipped with multiple USB ports, you can connect the mouse
to any of the USB ports.

If you disconnect the mouse (e.g. for transporting the PC), you should reconnect

the mouse to the same USB port. Otherwise the hardware manager may recognize
the mouse as a new hardware device and you may have to re-install the driver.
• If the mouse does not work when connected to a USB hub, try connecting it direct-
ly to a USB port of your PC.
• If you are planning to use the USB mouse in replacement of a traditional RS232 or
PS/2 mouse, please remember that USB is not supported in Windows 98/ME Safe
Mode.
This means, a mouse cursor is not displayed and navigation within the operating
system is possible via keyboard only!
A USB mouse cannot be used under DOS.
• The BIOS/Setup of your PC may offer the possibility of operating a USB mouse con-
nected to a USB port of the mainboard under DOS (and perhaps even in Windows
Safe Mode).
• The optical sensor on the bottom of the mouse does not work correctly on some
surfaces, e.g. on glass or on shiny, reflecting surfaces.
In this case we recommend the use of a suitable mouse pad.
• Periodically check the optical sensor for accumulation of dust particles. You can
remove these using a soft brush.
