because of safety and approval reasons (CE). Never dismantle the product.
• The product is only intended for use in dry, indoor locations. No part of the product
should be allowed to become moist or wet, never touch it if your hands are wet!
The mains adapter involves the risk of an electric shock!
• Do not expose the product to extreme temperatures (<0°C or >40°C), direct sun-
light, vibration or humidity.
• The product is not a toy. Keep devices that operate on the mains voltage out of the
reach of children! Therefore, be especially careful when children are around.
Use the product where it is out of the reach of children.
• Only use the USB hub using the enclosed power supply unit.
• Do not pull the power supply unit from the mains socket by pulling on the cable.
• If the power supply unit is damaged, do not touch it; there is danger to life from
electric shock!
Switch off the mains voltage for the mains socket to which the power supply unit is
connected (switch off at the corresponding circuit breaker or remove the safety fuse).
You can then unplug the power supply unit from the mains socket. Dispose of the
damaged power supply unit in an environment-friendly way, do not use it any
more.
Replace it with a new power supply unit with the same specifications.
• The design of the power supply unit complies with protection class II. Only use a

In case of power supply of the USB hub via the enclosed power supply unit („Self-Powered-
Modus"), each USB port of the hub provides a higher current.
Proceed for connection as follows:
• Connect the low-voltage plug of the power supply unit with the relevant jack on the USB hub.
• Connect the power supply unit to a mains socket. The power LED on the USB hub lights up.
• Connect the USB hub, via the provided USB cable, to a free USB3.0 port on your computer
(the computer does not need to be switched off).
• Windows recognises the new hardware and automatically installs the appropriate drivers
(these are contained in Windows; therefore, no data carrier with drivers is enclosed in the deli-
very).
• Now connect your USB devices to the USB hub. An associated LED lights up on each USB
port if a USB device is connected and recognised (not with USB recharging cables).
Handling
The USB hub can also be operated without the enclosed mains unit.
The hub functions here in the so-called „Bus-Powered-Mode". This means that the
current (according to standard, up to 900 mA for USB3.0 and up to 500mA for
USB2.0), supplied from the computer via the USB, is distributed to the 4 ports.
This is sufficient for e.g. most mice or keyboards, but many other devices may not
work correctly (e.g. external 6.35cm/2.5" hard disks, card readers with
CompactFlash hard disk, USB cameras etc.).
In case you notice that a device which is connected to the USB hub does not work
correctly or is not recognised, operate the USB hub via the power supply unit.
If you do not have a USB3.0 interface on your computer (e.g. on the motherboard or
on a USB3.0 expansion card), you can also connect the USB hub to a USB2.0/1.1
port. The devices connected to the USB3.0 hub (whether USB2.0 or USB.1.1)
however, normally only function at a USB2.0/1.1 speed!
• Only use in dry indoor locations. The product must not get damp or wet! There is
a risk of a life-threatening electric shock!
• Never use the product immediately after it has been taken from a cold room to a
warm one. The condensation that forms might destroy your unit. This might cause
a lethal electric shock!
Allow the product to reach room temperature, before connecting it to the power
supply and putting it in to use. This may take several hours.
• Any maintenance or repair work must only be carried out by authorised personnel.
• Check the product for damage before each use!
If you detect any damage, DO NOT connect the product to the mains supply!
A safe operation can no longer be assumed, if:
- the product shows visible signs of damage,
- the product does not function or does not function properly (e.g., smell of burning)
- the product was stored under unfavourable conditions
• When setting up the product, make sure that the cables are neither kinked nor
pinched.
• If the product is not to be used for a while (e.g. during storage) unplug the power
supply unit.
• Avoid the following unfavourable environmental conditions at the installation
location and during transportation:
- Excessive humidity or damp
- Extreme cold or heat
- Dust or flammable gases, fumes or solvents
- Strong vibrations
