short-circuit them.
Caustic fluid may leak from defective
NiCd or NiMH battery packs (30%
caustic potash solution)!
Slightly acidic, flammable fluid may leak
from defective Li-Ion battery packs!
If battery fluid from NiCd, NiMH or Li-Ion
battery packs leaks out and comes into
contact with the skin, rinse the affected area
thoroughly with water. If battery fluid leaks out
and comes into contact with your eyes, wash
them with clean water and seek medical
treatment immediately!

6 Special Product Features

Metabo impulse mode
(depending on equipment).
Optional pulse mode for precise fastening and
convenient drilling.
7 Operation
Charge the battery pack before use.
NiCd and NiMH: The battery pack reaches its
full capacity only after being charged and
discharged 5 times (charge cycles).
The maximum number of charge cycles can
only reached if an exhaustive discharge of the
battery pack is avoided. If performance dimin-
ishes, recharge the battery pack.
Store NiMH battery packs when charged and
recharge after 6 months at the latest.
10
Li-Ion battery packs (14.4 V and 18 V) have a
capacity and signal display:
- Press the button and the charge level is
displayed by the LEDs.
- If one LED is flashing, the battery pack is
empty and must be recharged. (The elec-
tronics protect the battery pack against total
discharge).
- If all LEDs are flashing, the battery pack has
become overloaded or too warm during
operation (temperature monitoring). The
battery pack has been switched off by the
electronics for protection. To continue using
the battery pack: For activation, insert the
battery pack into the charger, which is ready
for use.
