Intended use
The microphone is used for the conversion of acoustical signals (sound waves) into
electrical signals and is specially designed for cameras.
The low-level audio output may be connected only to suitable microphone inputs of
cameras.
The device is approved for battery operation only. Do not use any other power supply.
The correct battery type is specified in the "Technical Data" section.
Read the operating instructions carefully and keep them for later reference.
No part of the product may be modified or converted.
The safety instructions must be observed at all times.

F irst, read the complete operating instructions carefully, as they contain
important information about the proper operation.
T he warranty will be void in the event of damage caused by failure to
observe these safety instructions. We do not assume any liability for any
resulting damage!
W e do not assume any liability for material and personal damage caused
by improper use or non-compliance with the safety instructions. The war-
ranty/guarantee will be void in such cases!
Dear customer,
The following safety instructions and hazard warnings are intended not only
to protect your health but also to protect the device. Please read the follow-
ing points carefully:
• The unauthorised conversion and/or modification of the product is not al-
lowed because of safety reasons.
• If you pass the product on to a third party, please hand over these operat-
ing instructions as well.
• The power is supplied by a 1.5V micro battery (type AAA).
• When connecting the microphone, pay attention to the safety instructions
of the device to which it is to be connected.
• Do not expose the device to high temperatures, dripping or sprayed water,
strong vibrations or heavy mechanical stress.
• Use the product only in a temperate climate and not in a tropical climate.
• The product is not a toy and it should be kept out of the reach of children.
• Handle the product with care; it can be damaged by impacts, blows, or
accidental falls, even from a low height.
• Do not leave packaging material carelessly lying around, since it could
become a dangerous plaything for children.
• Also observe any further safety instructions in the individual chapters of
these operating instructions.
• In commercial institutions, the accident prevention regulations of the Em-
ployer's Liability Insurance Association for Electrical Systems and Operat-
ing Facilities are to be observed.
• If in doubt about how to connect the product correctly, or should any
questions arise that are not answered in these operating instructions,
please contact our technical service or consult a professional.
Battery instructions
• Batteries should be kept out of the reach of children.
• Do not leave batteries lying around in the open; there is a risk of them being swal-
lowed by children or pets. If they are swallowed, consult a doctor immediately.
• Leaking or damaged batteries can cause burns if they come into contact with the
skin. You should therefore wear suitable protective gloves.
• Batteries must not be short-circuited, opened or thrown into a fire. There is a risk of
explosion!
• Do not recharge normal, non-rechargeable batteries; there is a risk of explosion!
• Please pay attention to the correct polarity (plus/+ and minus/-) when inserting the
battery.
• Remove the batteries if the device is not used for a while to avoid leaking or the bat-
teries becoming flat.

Getting started
T o avoid distortion or mismatching, which could damage the microphone
or the connected audio device, the microphone may only be connected to
suitable microphone inputs. Please refer to the connection data contained
in the "Technical data" section.
The microphone can be attached directly to the camera hot shoe. It is also possible to
mount the microphone on a tripod via the recessed thread. An additional 6.3 mm male
(1/4") to 9 mm female (3/8") thread adapter is supplied for this purpose.
• Before you can use the device, you have to insert a battery (AAA).
See the chapter "Changing the battery".
• Mounting on a camera: The microphone shoe mount has a clamping screw. Loosen
the clamping screw. Slide the shoe mount into the hot shoe of the camera. Tighten
the clamping screw to fasten the microphone to the camera.
Mounting on a tripod: You can mount the microphone on a tripod via the recessed
thread on the shoe mount. An additional thread adapter is supplied for this purpose.
• Switch off the camera to which the microphone is to be connected.
• Connect the 3.5 mm stereo jack plug of the microphone to the microphone input of
your camera.
• Switch on the microphone with the ON/OFF switch. The battery status LED will light
up briefly when the battery is fully charged.
• Switch on your camera.
• With the 0 dB / -10 dB switch and the switchable low cut filter you can change the
sensitivity of the microphone or counteract the proximity effect and eliminate rum-
ble or impact noise.
• The microphone windscreen can be removed if necessary.
