Programming via the Setup Button
The speed controller can be programmed not only via a programming box, but also via the speed
controller's setup function as such. For this, the speed controller has four LEDs to display the respective
function level: LED 1 = green, LED 2 = yellow, LED 3 = blue and LED 4 = red.
Proceed as follows for programming:
• Switch on the transmitter. Leave the throttle lever in its neutral position. Connect the driving battery to
the speed controller.
• Switch on the speed controller: The green LED is lit = reverse movement activated; the yellow LED is
lit = reverse movement deactivated
You may have to programme the full throttle and neutral positions first; see section on
"Commissioning".
Programming Rechargeable Battery Type
The speed controller has an undervoltage recognition integrated for LiPo batteries. For LiPo batteries with
2 cells, the undervoltage recognition will react at 6.0 V, for LiPo batteries with 3 cells at 9.0V.
There is no undervoltage recognition for NiCd/NiMH batteries.
Important!
For LiPo batteries, the motor output will be reduced to 50% when the respective undervoltage
is undercut and the red LED flashes. To prevent deep discharge and therefore damage to the
LiPo battery, terminate operation without delay!
• Press and hold the setup button until the red LED lights up. After they are lit, release the setup button.
The red LED flashes, you are now in the setting mode for the rechargeable battery type.
• You can select the rechargeable battery type by briefly pressing the setup button. The flash rhythm of
the red LED changes.

• Hold down the setup button for at least 2 seconds; this saves the setting and the programming mode is
exited.
• If the setup button is not pressed for some 10 seconds, the programming mode is automatically exited
without saving the changes to the settings.
Switching Reverse On/Off
• Press and hold the setup button until the blue LED lights up. After they are lit, release the setup button.
The blue LED flashes (setting mode for reverse).
• You can switch the reverse mode on or off by briefly pressing the setup button. The flash rhythm of the
blue LED changes.

Setting the Brake Performance
As with nearly all other control units, the direct movement of the throttle lever on the remote control from
forwards to reverse mode activates the brake. However this control unit allows you to adjust the brake
performance to your requirements. Proceed as follows:
• Press and hold the setup button, until the blue and green LEDs come on. After they are lit, release the
setup button. The blue and green LEDs flash (setting mode for brake performance).
• You can select the brake performance by briefly pressing the setup button. The flash rhythm of both LEDs
changes.

Activating and Setting the Parking Brake
As opposed to normal electric motors, the driveshaft of the brushless motor can be easily turned. Thus the
model does not stay still on a slope. Something like a "parking" brake can be activated for this reason.
Proceed as follows:
• Press and hold the setup button, until the blue and yellow LEDs come on. After they are lit, release the
setup button. The blue and yellow LEDs flash (setting mode for parking brake).
• You can activate and deactivate or select the effect of the parking brake by briefly pressing the setup
button. The flash rhythms of the blue and yellow LED change.

Dead Band Setting
The so-called "dead band" setting makes it possible to set the neutral position range of the transmitter (the
section of the throttle lever path to be recognised as neutral position).
• Press and hold the setup button until the blue and red LEDs come on. After they are lit, release the setup
button. The blue and red LEDs flash (setting mode for "Dead Band").
• You can change the setting by briefly pressing the setup button. The flash rhythm of both LEDs changes.

Select Driver Profile
The control unit has 5 pre-programmed driver profiles, which differ in their predefined settings. After
selecting a driver profile the rechargeable battery type (NiCd/NiMH, 2 or 3 cells LiPo) must be correctly set.
• Press and hold the setup button until all four LEDs come on. After they are lit, release the setup button.
The four LEDs flash (setting mode for driver profile).
• You can change the setting by briefly pressing the setup button. The flash rhythm of all four LEDs
changes.

Brake Function & Reverse Mode
When switching between forwards and reverse driving (if activated), the throttle lever must be put in neutral
position shortly (approx. 1 second).
If the throttle lever is shifted directly from forwards to reverse, the control unit's brake will be activated (the
vehicle will NOT go backwards!) The brake performance can be adjusted as described above.

End of Operation
• First switch off the speed controller (put switch in the "OFF" position).
• Separate the rechargeable battery from the speed controller and completely remove the plug connection.
• Now switch off the transmitter.

Disposal
Electric and electronic products do not belong in the household waste!
At the end of its service life, dispose of the product according to the relevant statutory
regulations.


Attention!
The speed controller is designed for max. 3 cells LiPo or 10 cells NIMH. The set's motor,
however, is only suitable for a rated voltage up to 7.4 Volt (2 cells LiPo or 6 cells NiMH).
If this is not observed, the motor will be destroyed. Loss of guarantee/warranty!
