Intended Use
This product consists of a high performance brushless motor along with an electronic speed controller.
The speed controller is connected to a free channel of the receiver of model vehicles and serves as a
continuous RPM control of the brushless motor.
Programming is possible via a programming button. Alternatively, the speed controller can be comfortably
set with a programming box available as accessories.
This product complies with the applicable national and European requirements. All company names and
product names are trademarks of the respective owners. All rights reserved.

Safety Notices

The guarantee/warranty will be void if damage is incurred resulting from non-compliance
with the operating instructions. We will not assume any responsibility for consequential
damage!
We do not assume any liability for material and personal damage caused by improper
use or non-compliance with the safety instructions! In such cases the warranty/
guarantee is void.
• The unauthorized conversion and/or modification of the product is prohibited for safety and approval
reasons (CE).
• The product is not a toy and must be kept out of the reach of children!
• The product must not become damp or wet.
• Always turn on the transmitter first before connecting the speed controller with the driving battery and
switching it on.
• Before turning off the transmitter, turn off the speed controller and, if necessary, disconnect it from the
driving battery.
• Disconnect the driving battery from the speed controller if you do not need the speed controller. The
speed controller can be temporarily switched off using the on/off switch.
• Both the motor and the control unit can become very hot during operation; danger of burns!
• Handle the product with care. It can be damaged by impact, blows or when dropped even from a low
height.
• Do not leave packaging material unattended. It may become a dangerous toy for children.

Installation

• If the product is to be used as a replacement for an existing speed controller/motor, first remove the old
speed controller and the motor from your model.
• Install a pinion suitable for the drive gear on the driveshaft of the brushless motor. The pinion is usually
tightened with a grub screw.
Make sure that the grub screw sits exactly on the flattened
side of the driveshaft and is screwed tight in that position (see
the schematic diagram on the right, without the gear).
Otherwise the pinion will quickly become loose.
The exact position of the pinion on the drive shaft must be determined after installing the motor.
Therefore, only tighten the pinion slightly at first.
• Install the motor in your vehicle and screw it into place. The distance between the pinion and the drive
gear will be set later.
• Now check that the pinion meets the drive gear properly and is not skewed to one side.
The exact position of the pinion is very important, it must not be skewed to the
side as otherwise the drive gear will be damaged (power transmission takes
place over a small area).
Make note of the position, remove the motor again if required and correct the
mounting position of the pinion on the driveshaft.
Only when the pinion is exactly parallel to the drive gear should the grub
screw in the pinion be tightened firmly. Use a drop of threadlocker to keep the
grub screw from loosening again.
• After the pinion is mounted correctly on the driveshaft of the motor, the correct distance between the
pinion and the drive gear, called tooth backlash, must be set. .
• Generally when dealing with motor mounts, one mount hole is round and the other one is oblong. The
motor is attached with the screw in the round hole and is adjusted with the screw in the oblong hole.
Loosen both screws slightly so that the motor can be turned with some effort.
• The pinion should be as close as possible to the drive gear without touching it.
If the pinion is too far away from the drive gear, the drive gear teeth will be damaged. If the pinion is too
close to the drive gear, the drive moves too stiffly. This will increase both power consumption and wear.
The distance is perfect if you can turn a strip of thin paper between the pinion and drive gear.
• Screw on the motor and then check the tooth backlash again.
• Attach the speed controller in the chassis. Choose a position which is as far away as possible from the
receiver. The speed controller should not be directly next to the motor either.
You can use hook-and-loop or double-sided adhesive or similar to attach the unit.
• The on/off switch should be attached so that it can be operated easily. Also use hook-and-loop tape or
double-sided tape for installation.
• Install all cables so that they cannot become entangled in rotating or moving parts of the vehicle. Use
cable ties to secure them.
Ensure above all things that the control unit ventilation cannot be inhibited in its function (danger of
overheating the control unit!).

Programming with the Programming Box
With the programming box available as an accessory, you can comfortably set the motor timing,
acceleration characteristics, maximum speed forwards, maximum speed reverse, electronic motor polarity
reversal and cycle frequency (in addition to the parameters already described).
For this, observe the operating instructions for the programming box.

Connection to the Receiver
• Connect the three-pole plug to the corresponding channel of the receiver. Make sure the assignment on
the receiver is correct (see operating instructions of the receiver as well as the information on the
receiver).
Yellow/white/orange cable:
Red cable:
Brown/black cable:
• Since the speed controller is equipped with a BEC, no receiver battery or rechargeable battery must be
used! The receiver is powered directly through the speed controller by the vehicle battery.

Commissioning
a) Preparation
Caution!
Place the model vehicle so that the drive wheels do not touch the ground or any objects. Place
the vehicle on a hard foam block or similar.
Do not touch the drive mechanism and do not block it! Risk of injury!
• Switch on your transmitter. (Check battery state!) Put the trimming in its centre position; put the throttle
lever in its neutral position (release lever).
• The switch on the control unit must be set to the "OFF" position; see figure on the right.
• Insert the driving battery into the vehicle and connect it to the speed controller.
• Put the driving function trimming in its centre position and release the throttle lever.
b) Programming of Full Throttle and Neutral Positions
• Switch off the speed controller. Continue to press and hold the small setup button to the left of the on/
off switch (do not release it!).
Then put the switch of the speed controller in the "ON" position, see figure to the
right.
• When the blue LED on the control unit is lit, release the setup button.
• Move the throttle lever to full speed setting.
• The red and the yellow LEDs flash and then stay lit, a beep tone can be heard from the motor, the full
speed setting is saved.
The beep tone is generated because the brushless motor is activated for a moment. This beep
may be very low or inaudible (depending on the motor). In this case, observe the display of the
speed controller LEDs.
• Now move the throttle lever to full reverse setting.
• The red and the blue LEDs flash and then stay lit, two beep tones can be heard, the full reverse setting
is saved.
• Now release the throttle so that it sits in the neutral position.
• The red and the green LEDs flash and then stay lit, three beep tones can be heard, the neutral position
setting is saved, all LEDs cease to be lit.
• Switch the speed controller off, the programming is complete.
