or have been instructed in the safe use of the appliance and have
understood the dangers that arise when using it. Children must not
be allowed to play with the appliance.
4. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with
the appliance. This also applies to the cleaning of the appliance.
5. Do not allow this appliance to be used by anyone who is not
familiar with it or has not read these instructions.
6. RISK OF SHORT CIRCUIT! Do not open the housing under any cir-
cumstances. Never insert any objects into the interior of the housing.
7. RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK! Never insert cutlery or other metal
objects into the toasting slots
8. RISK OF FIRE AND SHORT CIRCUIT! Do not
submerge the appliance in water and also do not use
the appliance near water. Do not allow any liquids to
penetrate into the appliance!
9. Only allow the appliance to cool down in the ambient air after
finishing your work. Do not quench the appliance in water under
any circumstances!
10. RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK! Never touch the appliance with wet
or damp hands, and do not use the appliance while standing on a
wet floor.
11. Only use the appliance on an even, heat-resistant surface.
12. Do not use, store or place the appliance on or near to hot surfaces
and exposed ignition sources (e.g. hobs, ovens, radiators or candles).
13. RISK OF FIRE! Toasted bread can catch fire. Therefore, never set
up the appliance near to or underneath flammable objects,
especially not under curtains or wall cabinets.
14. RISK OF FIRE! The appliance may not be used near to flammable
materials.
15. RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK! Check that the mains voltage and
the type of electrical current matches the information provided on
the type plate on the appliance before connecting it to the mains
power supply.
