General safety information
1.1 Intended use
The RAICO interchangeable tool 298180 is intended exclu-
sively for use in the RAICO multifunction punch press 2
298100.
Use for any purpose beyond this shall be considered to be
non-intended use.
The manufacturer shall not be held liable for any damage
resulting therefrom and any such use shall be entirely at the
risk of the operating company.
Unauthorised alterations to the RAICO interchangeable tool,
in particular the manipulation of fitted safety devices, shall
exempt the manufacturer from liability for any damages thus
arising.
Compliance with the manufacturer's prescribed operating,
maintenance and repair conditions also falls within the mean-
ing of intended use.
Before use, in addition to the operating instructions for the
RAICO interchangeable tool, the operating instructions for the
RAICO multifunction punch press 2 must also be read.
The relevant accident prevention regulations as well as the
other generally recognised rules must be complied with.
1.2 Potential hazards with the RAICO interchangeable
tool
The RAICO interchangeable tool has been developed and
manufactured in accordance with state-of-the-art technology.
In the case of non-intended use, inadequate operator qualifi-
cation or non-compliance with the operating instructions the
following hazards can be assumed to be present with the
RAICO tool insert.
Operator health hazards.
Risk of other material and asset damage to the op-
erating company.
Restricted performance and economy of the RAICO
interchangeable tool.
1.3 Mechanical hazards
All components which are assumed to be hazardous are
either clad or provided with a safety device. The dismantling
or modifying of safety devices is forbidden.
Prior to carrying out any maintenance and repair work on the
RAICO interchangeable tool, this must be removed from the
RAICO multifunction punch press 2.
Refitting of the protective equipment must be carried out
immediately upon completion of the work.
1.4 Requirements on the operating company
The RAICO interchangeable tool is only to be used in a tech-
nically faultless condition and for the purpose for which it is
intended and with safety and hazard awareness in compliance
with the operating instructions.
In particular, faults which could be detrimental to
safety must be rectified immediately.
Operating instructions
The operating company must ensure that the operator
has read and understood the operating instructions.
Supplementary to the operating instructions, the general
applicable statutory and other binding regulations on accident
prevention and protection of the environment are to be ob-
served and applied.
The RAICO interchangeable tool may only be deployed by
persons who may be entrusted to use it correctly.
These persons must, by virtue of their technical qualification,
be in a position to operate the RAICO interchangeable tool
proficiently after having read the operating instructions.
In this regard, it is particularly important that the opera-
tors recognise the hazards arising from the use of the
RAICO interchangeable tool.
1.5 Requirements on the operator.

Interchangeable tool
The operating company must guarantee that no un-
authorised person uses the RAICO interchangeable
tool.
It is strictly forbidden for children to operate the
RAICO interchangeable tool.
The operating company is obligated to make the op-
erating instructions for the RAICO interchangeable
tool available to the operator at all times.
The maintenance intervals specified in the operating
instructions are to be adhered to.
Prior to the dismantling of safety devices and during
repair work, the RAICO interchangeable tool is to be
removed from the RAICO multifunction punch press
2.
Refitting of the safety devices must be carried out
immediately upon completion of the work.
Spare parts must comply with the technical require-
ments specified by the manufacturer.
Any consumption of alcohol or other drugs prior to or
while working with the RAICO interchangeable tool
is strictly forbidden.
Tiredness, stress factors or illness may not be per-
mitted to endanger the proficient operation of the
RAICO interchangeable tool.
Smoking is strictly forbidden whilst operating the
RAICO interchangeable tool!
Always work with protective gloves.
Always work with hearing protection.
Wear suitable, close fitting clothes.
Never reach into the working area of the RAICO in-
terchangeable tool. Never reach into the working ar-
ea of the RAICO interchangeable tool.
Safety devices may not be dismantled or rendered
inoperable.
