Application
The RAICO interchangeable tool "supporting profiles" 298180 is intended solely for application in the
RAICO multifunction punch press 2 298 100. Before use, in addition to the RAICO interchangeable tool
operating instructions (safety information), the operating instructions for the RAICO multifunction punch
press 2 must also be read.
Using the RAICO interchangeable tool 298180, punchings for T connections in supporting profiles
from the RAICO systems can be produced.
The profiles to be processed using this RAICO interchangeable tool can be found in the relevant appli-
cable range listing or processing guidelines.
Assembly
The RAICO interchangeable tool is factory as-
sembled ready to use apart from the star handle
and is safeguarded against being inadvertently
pulled apart.
The star handle provided is to be screwed to a
depth of approx. 10 mm into the top part of the
RAICO interchangeable tool.
To exchange a RAICO interchangeable tool,
this must be inserted correctly into the cleaned
and oiled seating pocket on the tool holder from
the RAICO multifunction punch press 2.
The RAICO interchangeable tool 298180 is in-
serted into station no. 3 on the RAICO multi-
function punch press 2.
In doing so, the star handle is positioned in the
counterbore provided. The RAICO interchange-
able tool must then be clamped into the seating
using the star handle.
(The procedure is described in the operating
instructions for the RAICO multifunction punch
press 2, 298100).
A check must be made at regular intervals that
the star handles on the individual RAICO inter-
changeable tools in the RAICO multifunction
punch press 2 are firmly seated and these re-
tightened where necessary.

Function
The RAICO interchangeable tool is for produc-
ing the punched holes for T connections in sup-
porting profiles.
It consists of two punching stations. The profile
to be punched is inserted on to the die plate
from the front. In doing so, the profile centres
itself independently.
Left hand station:
Punching the Ø6 holes at 27.5 mm or 44.5 mm
spacings. (Fig. 1).
By pulling out or pushing in the front located
mushroom knob (32), the front or rear punches
can be switched active /passive.
Slider pushed in = punched dimension 27.5 mm
Slider pulled out = punched dimension 44.5 mm
Right hand station:
Punching the elongated holes Ø5 x 12 mm (Fig.
2)
After correctly positioning the profile in the RAI-
CO interchangeable tool, the punching cycle is
commenced by operating the foot valve on the
RAICO multifunction punch press 2. If the
punching cycle has ended, the die returns to its
home position by releasing the foot valve.
