Commissioning
• Remove all packaging materials.
• Unwind the mains cable completely.
• Before inserting the plug into the socket. Make sure that
the mains voltage to be used matches that of the device.
You can find this information on the nameplate.
• Connect the appliance to a properly installed earthed
socket.
• Slide the switch on the handle to the position I to turn on
the appliance. The control lamp lights. The appliance will
be operational after a few minutes.
NOTE:
When the appliance has heated up, it may result in a slight
development of odors. This odor is caused by the coating
of the heating rod and will disappear with time. Ensure suf-
ficient ventilation.
Use
WARNING:
• Only use the appliance for dry hair.
• Do not touch the scalp with the hot curling tongs.
CAUTION:
• Only use the appliance with natural hair. It is not suit-
able for artificial hair pieces or wigs due to its high
temperature.
• Never use the appliance in combination with styling
products such as mousse, hairspray, or gel.
TIPS:
• We recommend that you spray heat protection spray
onto your dry hair prior to the application.
• You will achieve tightly rolled curls with thin strands of
hair (ca. 2 cm). Take thicker strands (4 to 6 cm) for loose
waves.
• When you are done shaping your curls, let the hair cool
off completely before continuing with the styling.
• For intensive curls, do not brush your hair afterwards.
Get it into shape with your fingers.
• For a wavy, voluminous look, gently brush your curls
with a brush.
1. Comb or brush your hair to untangle it.
2. Take a strand of hair into your hand. Hold the curling
tongs horizontal and away from your head.
3. Place the heating rod close to the hairline of the strand
and roll up the hair from the root to the tip.
4. Hold down the hair-ends at the pointed end of the heat-
ing rod for a maximum of 10 to 15 seconds.
5. Let go of the hair-ends and carefully pull the curling rod
from the hair.
6. Let the curl cool down.
7. Repeat steps 2 to 6 for more curls.
Switch-off
After use, slide the switch to position "0" and disconnect
from the mains.
Storage
• Leave the device to cool before putting it away! To do so,
place the appliance with the stand onto a heat-resistant,
stable and level surface.
• When the appliance has cooled down, you may hang it
up on the suspension eye.
Mains Cable
• Do not wrap the mains cable around the appliance. This
may result in the cable breaking.
• Check the mains cable regularly for damagen.
Cleaning
WARNING:
• Before cleaning remove the mains lead from the
socked.
• Under no circumstances should you immerse the
device in water for cleaning purposes. Otherwise this
might result in an electric shock or fire.
• Let the appliance cool completely before you clean it!
Risk of burns!
CAUTION:
• Do not use a wire brush or any abrasive items.
• Do not use any acidic or abrasive detergents.
• Clean the housing with a soft, dry cloth without additivesl.
• You may clean the heating rod with a slightly moist towel
as needed.
• Let the appliance dry completely before you store it or
reuse it.
