Operating instructions
Start
Pre-start inspection routine:
• Check that the motor's ventilation ports are free and clear.
• Check that the trimmer and its battery are whole and undamaged.
• Check that both the safety lock and start switch press in and release easily,
and do not catch or function abnormally in any other way.
• Check that both handles are clean and easily gripped.
1. Ensure that the blade guard is removed.
2. Attach the battery to the trimmer and make sure that it clicks securely into place.
3. Hold both the safety lock and start switch pressed in. The trimmer should
now start.
Note: Both the safety lock and start switch must be held in to keep the motor in
continuous operation.
4. The trimmer will automatically stop if either the safety lock or start switch is released.
Note: Sparks may sometimes be noticed inside the motor housing when the motor is
turned off. This is completely normal.
Repositioning the cutter bar
The trimmer's cutter bar can be swivelled to 90º to simplify cutting the sides of hedges.
1. Remove the battery from the hedge trimmer.
2. Pull the catch (8) backwards and adjust the cutter bar to the 90º position.
