10. Notes on Range

Range and interferences:
• The product works in the 2.4 GHz range, which is also used by other products. Therefore restrictions
of the operation and range can occur through devices working on the same or an adjacent frequency.
• The range for direct visual contact of transmitter and receiver (the so-called "free field range") has a
maximum of 200m. It is greatly reduced in buildings (theoretically) depending on the construction and
environment conditions.
Ferro-concrete, metal doors or the use of metal-coated heat insulation can have a negative effect on
the range. The range is shortened.
As a rule, when operated in, for example, a family home, faultless operation should be possible.
Further causes of a reduced range:
• High frequency disturbances of all kinds (e.g. microwave ovens)
• Buildings of all types and vegetation
• Conductive metal parts situated near the devices or within or near the
• Wireless transmission range, e.g. radiators, metallised insulating glass windows, reinforced concrete
ceiling, etc.
• Influence on the aerials' radiation pattern due to the distance of transmitter or receiver to conductive
surfaces or objects (metal tables, but also human bodies or floors)
• Broadband interference in urban areas that reduces the signal-to-noise ratio; the signal is not recog-
nised because of the "noise"
• Irradiation of insufficiently shielded electronic devices, e.g. computers operated openly

11. Maintenance and Cleaning

The product does not require any maintenance. You should never take it apart.
The product should only be repaired by a specialist or specialist workshop or it might be damaged. Further-
more, the CE approval will become void as well as the guarantee/warranty.
Clean the product with a soft, clean and fuzz-free cloth only. Do not use any cleaning agents; the plastic
housing and labelling can be attacked by these.
Dust can be removed using a clean, soft brush and a vacuum cleaner.
