Important information
Read instructions carefully before installation and operation. Please keep
instructions for future reference and hand them over to any new user.
Safety
• The battery backup KLB 100 can be used by persons (aged 8 years and
above) with sufficient experience and knowledge if they have been given
instruction concerning its safe use and understand the hazards involved.
Cleaning and user maintenance must not be made by unsupervised chil-
dren.
• Children must not play with the battery backup.
• If repair and adjustment work is needed to the system or the window
including products connected to it, disconnect mains supply and ensure
that it cannot be reconnected unintentionally. Additionally, disconnect
battery backup by pressing the button (see page 22).
• The battery backup must not be covered (maximum ambient tempera-
ture: 50°C).
• During power failure, the window including products connected to it
might be activated automatically via the battery backup.
Function
• The battery backup is for indoor use only.
• Installation in rooms with a high level of humidity must comply with
relevant regulations (contact a qualified electrician if necessary).
Product
• The battery backup has been designed for use with genuine VELUX prod-
ucts. Connection to other products may cause damage or malfunction.
• The battery backup is compatible with products with the
io-homecontrol
logo.
®
• Electrical products must be disposed of in conformity with national
regulations for electronic waste and not with household waste.
• The packaging can be disposed of with usual household waste.
Maintenance and service
• The battery backup requires a minimal amount of maintenance. The
surface may be cleaned with a soft, damp cloth.
• The battery backup should be tested every second year by disconnecting
mains supply and checking that the indicator lamp flashes.
• Disconnect mains supply before carrying out any maintenance (includ-
ing cleaning of pane) or service work to the system or window includ-
ing products connected to it and ensure that it cannot be reconnected
unintentionally during this time.
