IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
To reduce the risk of fi re, electric shock, or injury:
1. Do not leave the vacuum cleaner unattended when plugged in. Unplug from outlet
when not in use and before servicing.
2. To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not use outdoors or on wet surfaces.
3. Do not allow to be used as a toy. Close attention is necessary when used by or near
children.
4. Use only as described in this manual. Use only manufactures recommend
attachments.
5. Do not use with damaged cord or plug. If the vacuum cleaner is not working as
it should, when it has been dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or dropped into water,
return it to a service center.
6. Do not pull or carry on the cord, don't use the cord as a handle, close a door on the
cord, or pull cord around sharp edges or corners. Do not run the vacuum cleaner over
a cord. Keep the cord away from heated surfaces.
7. Do not unplug by pulling on the cord. To unplug, grasp the plug, not the cord.
8. Do not handle plug or vacuum cleaner with wet hands.
9. Do not put any object into openings of the vacuum cleaner. Do not use with any
opening blocked. Keep free of dust, lint, hair and anything that may reduce the airfl ow.
10. Keep hair, loose clothing, fi ngers and all parts of your body away from openings
and moving parts.
11. Turn all controls off before unplugging.
12. Use extra care when cleaning on stairs.
13. Do not use the appliance for picking up fl ammable or combustible liquids, such as
gasoline, or use in areas where they may be present.
14. Hold plug when rewinding. Do not allow plug to whip when rewinding.
15. Unplug before connecting the hose.
16. Do not pick up anything that is burning or smoking, such as cigarettes, matches, or
hot ashes.
17. Do not use without dust bag and/or fi lter in place.
18. Only use approved extension cords.
19. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its
service agent or a similarly qualifi ed person in order to avoid a hazard.
