Intended use

This tool is intended for cutting branches and can also be used for sawing wood, soft metal
(e. g. copper) and plasterboard if appropriate saw blades are used. It is suitable for curvy and
straight cuts.
This tool is only intended for private domestic use and not for commercial use.

Special safety instructions

• This device must not be used by persons (including children) with limited physical, sensory
or mental abilities or a lack of experience and knowledge unless someone who is
responsible for their safety supervises or instructs them while they are using the device.
Children must be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the device.
• Keep all body parts away from the blade when the saw is running. Before starting the garden
saw, ensure that the saw blade is not in contact with anything. If you momentarily lose
concentration during the operation of the saw, clothing or body parts may get caught by the
saw blade.
• Wear protective goggles and ear protection when working with the saw. Additional protective
equipment for head, hands, legs and feet is recommended. Appropriate protective clothing
reduces the risk of injuries caused by ejected parts or accidental contact with the saw blade.
• The garden saw may not be used in a tree. Operating the garden saw while sitting in a tree
may lead to injuries.
• Always ensure that you stand well and safely and only operate the garden saw if you are
standing on a solid, safe and even surface. Slippery or unstable surfaces such as ladders
can lead to the loss of balance and control over the saw.
• If you saw a branch which is tensioned, keep in mind that it may spring back. When the
tension of the wood fibres is released, the branch may hit the operator and/or the garden
saw may get out of control.
• Take special care when sawing bushes and saplings. The thin material may get caught in
the saw blade and jerk towards you or throw you off balance.
• Remove chips or splinters only when the machine is switched off and stands still.
• Do not place the saw down until the saw blade has come to a complete standstill.
• Keep the handle dry, clean and free of oil and grease. Greasy, oily handles are slippery and
lead to a loss of control.
• Exclusively use sharp and undamaged saw blades. Do not use torn or bent saw blades.
• Always choose a saw blade which is suitable for the material to be processed.
