Kick-back
Kick-back may occur if the tip of the saw blade comes into contact with an object or if the wood
locks and jams the saw blade in the cut.
If the tip touches an object, the saw blade may be pushed upwards in the direction of the
operator. In this case, you may lose control over the saw which may lead to severe injuries.
Kick-back is the result of incorrect use of the tool and/or incorrect operating methods. It can be
avoided by taking the following precautions:
• Hold the garden saw firmly in both hands with your thumb and fingers around the handles.
Position your body and arm so that you can absorb any possible recoil.
• Do not lean too far forward and do not cut above shoulder height. In this way, you can avoid
unintended contact of the tip.
• Only use the replacement saw blades which are specified by the manufacturer. Wrong saw
blades may lead to breaking and/or recoiling of the saw blade.

Battery level indicator

If you press button (A), the battery level is indicated by three LEDs (5) with different colours:
- red LED lit
- red + yellow LED lit 20– 70%
- all three LEDs lit
If only the red LED is lit, the battery has to be re-charged.
• Lithium ion batteries are protected against total discharge. If the battery is empty, the device
is switched off.
• ATTENTION! Do not keep the operating switch (8) pressed. Otherwise the battery may be
damaged.

Charging the battery

Charge the battery (6) before using the tool for the first time.
• Only use the supplied charger (11) for charging the battery.
• Only use the charger in dry rooms.
• Charge the battery only if the ambient temperature is between 10 and 40 ˚C.
• Exclusively connect the charger (11) to 230 V~ .
• To remove the battery (6) from the tool handle, press the release lugs (7) on both sides of
the battery and pull the battery out of the handle.
• Place the battery (6) in the charger (11). Observe the correct polarity.
• The red LED indicates the charging process. When the green LED lights up, the battery has
been charged completely.
• 4-5 charging cycles are required before the battery reaches its optimum charge and
operating time.
• Disconnect the charger from the socket when it is not in use.
• During the charging process, the device may not be switched on.
