Check the mains cord regularly for damage.

Is the On/Off switch in the correct position I (On)?

Is the mains plug properly connected with the socket?
•
Is the socket defective? Try another socket.
•
Check the fuse for your mains connection.
•
Is the device overheated? Wait until the device has cooled off,
fi ll it with water and then try again.
•
Is the water level below the Min mark?
•
Has the lid been closed properly?
•
Is the switch jammed?
•
Are you using the device for the fi rst time? An odour often
develops when using new devices for the fi rst time. The odour
should disappear once you have used the device a few times.

Did you just decalcify the kettle? Rinse it off with clean water.
