Operating Instructions
Series G2 · G5 · GS · GM · GN · GS
Important
All gearmotors will operate safely, provided it is selected, installed, used and maintained prop-
erly. As with any power transmission equipment proper precaution must be taken as indicated in
the general safety regulations.
Connection of the electric motor to the mains supply should be made only by a qualified person.
Installation
In the Oil-table we marked all units with ?, where you have to replace the transport plug with the
breather screw. The rest of the units are hermetically closed.
All drives are lubricated for life and are supplied with the appropriate amount of lubricant for the
mounting pos ition, identified in the original order.
Gears, sprockets couplings etc. should not be hammered onto the shafts, since this would d e-
mage the shaft support bearings. Please use the threaded hole in the end of the shaft.
Power Supply
Before wiring the motor, please check the line voltage and frequency with data of the name plate
of the motor. Then the motor can be wired by a qualified person, according the wiring diagram,
which you will find in the terminalbox of the motor.
Before wiring disc rotor motors, you have to check the armature voltage of the motor with the max.
armature voltage of the power supply unit.
Also the armature and field voltage of the D.C. shunt motors must be compared with the arm a-
ture and field voltage of the power supply unit.
Brush changing on D.C. motors
The brushes of D.C. shunt motors should be checked at least every 1000 hours operating time
(when using a smoothing choke, form factor better 1,1).
The brushes of the disc rotor motors should be checked after 3000 hours operating time.
The brush wear depends on the operating conditions and increases with the average value of the
speed in cycle time.
General
When motors are cooled by forced ventilation, the filters must be cleaned or replaced at adequate
time.
The gears and motors and also the motor fan must be cleaned periodically from any dust and
dirt. If there is a danger of overload, you have to use a couppling, adjusted in the maximum per-
mis sable output torque.
Important:
The disc rotor motor and tacho generators cannot dismounted without causing demagnetisation
of the stator magnets. It is then necessary to remagnetise the magnets in workshop.
Please, send therefor the motors, in case of service, back to heytec.
