OPERATION

All controls and displays are situated on the
front panel (except "COMMAND"-level pot of
PHONE-AMP G96):
POWER SWITCH
This switch activates the unit. Operation is indi-
cated by the red ON-LED next to the switch.
VOLUME CONTROL
The volume control pot determines the head-
phone volume for both left and right channel.
BALANCE CONTROL
The "BALANCE"-pot operates as a common
balance control. In the detented center position,
the stereo signal passes without any attenuati-
on. Turning the knob clockwise attenuates the
left channel, turning it counterclockwise atte-
nuates the right channel.
THE COMMAND INPUT [G96]
The XLR-type balanced "COMMAND"-input is
situated on the rear panel. It can be used e.g.
for communication signals sent from the mixing
console, metronome clicks, tuning references
etc. The signal injected is fed to both sides of
the headphones monaurally.
COMMAND LEVEL [G96]
This pot is situated on the rear panel of PHO-
NE-AMP G96. It sets the volume for the "COM-
MAND"-signal.
HEADPHONES OUTPUTS
The PHONE-AMP offers two stereophonic
headphone outputs. Each is equipped with a
standard 1/4" phone jacks.
Both sockets may be controlled by a push-but-
ton switch with the function "STEREO" and
"SPLIT".
SPLITSWITCH
Both outputs are working in normal
"STEREO"
stereo operation.
The left channel is output to both ear-
pieces of the headphone connected to
the left socket.
The right channel is output to both
"SPLIT"
earpieces of the headphone connec-
ted to the right socket.
This operation mode is to be preferred
when mono signals are fed to the in-
puts.
ADDITIONAL OUTPUT [G96]
The PHONE-AMP G96 offers an additional out-
put, equipped with 1/4" phone jack.
This socket is controlled by two switches with
three positions, "L, 0, R". Each switch controls
one earpiece of the connected headphone, so
output channel selection may be varied as fol-
lows:
