GENERAL INFORMATION

The PHONE AMP G94/G96is a stereo head-
phone amplifier designed for low- to medium-Z
loads(8 ... 200 ohms), as typical for many actual
studio headsets. To drive medium- to high-Z lo-
ads (50 ... 2000 ohms) the PHONE-AMP G91 is
recommended.
Due to its noise- and THD-optimized circuitry
layout, specially adapted to the above menti-
oned headphones, PHONE-AMP G94/G96 co-
vers high quality demands.
Its outstanding features comprise:
- balanced inputs via XLR [G94 / G96]
- additional, adjustable command channel with
balanced inputs [G96]
- volume and balance control
- two headphone sockets with split function
- one multifunction headphone socket allowing
multiple variations in channel selecting [G96]
- clip indicator [G96]
- 3/8" bottom threading for mike stand operati

In spite of its compact dimensions, the PHONE
AMP G94/G96 offers optimum flexibility and
high power.
Reliability even under rough or improper hand-
ling conditions has been another important goal
of development.
Thus, the unit is absolutely long-term short-cir-
cuit proof.
In addition, the PHONE AMP G94/G96 is equip-
ped with filters to prevent overload by inaudibly
low and high frequencies.

THE CASE
The case (inclusive front- and rear-cover) is
crafted from sheet steel. Due to the thickness of
the material used, the unit is well protected
against mechanical influences.
The 3/8" bottom threading - available on re-
quest - allows quick and easy mounting on a
standard microphone stand. Thus, it can be pla-
ced as convenient as possible for everyday stu-
dio work.

POWER SUPPLY

The PHONE AMP G94/G96 is connected to
mains via a three-wire cord with a schuko-type
mains plug. The case is grounded, protective
earth and signal ground are tied together. Mains
voltage is set to 230 VAC. The mains transfor-
mer is long-term short-circuit proof.
THE INPUTS
The signal inputs on the rear are equipped with
XLR female type sockets, allowing balanced
signal injection. They are marked "LEFT" and
"RIGHT" respectively.
PHONE-AMP G96 offers an additional balan-
ced "COMMAND"-input. This is provided e.g.
for communication purposes.
