Installing the LED Tube in a lamp
Warning!
If the LED Tube is to be used instead of a fluorescent tube, it must only be
installed in a lamp that is equipped with a common replaceable starter.
The LED Tube cannot be used in connection with an electronic reference bal-
last!
The LED Tube cannot be used in lamps with tandem switches.
If in doubt, the fluorescent tube must only be replaced with the LED Tube by a
qualified expert.
If applicable, consider applicable regulations about the required illumination
level before replacing a fluorescent tube.
A fluorescent tube generally emits light at an angle of 360°. If the lamp has
an integrated reflector, the light is distributed over a correspondingly large
surface.
Due to its construction, the LED Tube emits light only at a smaller angle and
not at 360°.
Thus, the effect of a reflector built into the lamp is limited, which results in a
completely different light.
• Before replacing/changing an illuminant, switch of the mains voltage first.
• Remove the illuminant (e.g. a fluorescent tube) from the lamp socket. When doing
so, pay attention to the operating instructions of the lamp, e.g. if covers or similar
have to be removed.
To remove the illuminant, it must be rotated carefully by 90° around its long axis
at the front or back; then, it can be pulled out of the socket. Do not exert any force!
• Remove the starter integrated in the lamp (generally by rotating it a little to the
left in counter-clockwise direction and then pulling it out).
• Insert the special starter provided and lock it again in the socket.
• Insert the LED Tube into the lamp socket. Here, the orientation is irrelevant.
Rotate the LED Tube in the socket around its long axis by 90° so that the LEDs
point outwards.
• Depending on the lamp used, a previously removed cover may have to be re-
attached; pay attention to the operating instructions of the lamp.
• Switch the mains voltage on again or switch on the lamp.
If the LED Tube does not light up immediately, switch off the mains voltage of the
lamp immediately. Subsequently, check the correct position of the LED Tube in
the corresponding socket and the correct fit of the starter.
In case of doubt, contact a professional (e.g. an electrician).
If the LED Tube is to be replaced again by a fluorescent tube, you must replace
the special starter with a normal starter for fluorescent tubes!
Disposal
Electrical and electronic equipment do not belong in the regular
household waste.
Dispose of the product at the end of its serviceable life in accordance with
the current statutory requirements; e.g. return it to any suitable collection
point.

Maintenance and cleaning

The LED Tube does not require any maintenance and should never be disassembled
for any reason. A faulty LED Tube must only be dismantled and repaired, if neces-
sary, by a specialist.
For cleaning, pay attention to the operating instructions of the lamp in which the
LED Tube is installed.
When cleaning the LED Tube, you must first switch off the mains voltage of the
lamp in which the LED Tube is installed. After that, allow sufficient time for the lamp
and the LED Tube to cool down.
Wipe the outside of the LED Tube with a dry, soft and clean cloth. Dust can be very
easily removed with a brush and a vacuum cleaner.
