IMPORTANT
ADDITIONAL SAFETY INFORMATION:
This battery charger is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced
physical, sensory or mental abilities, or who lack experience and knowledge, unless
they are under the supervision of and instructed in the use of the device by a person
responsible for their safety.
Battery maintenance
Please check your battery regularly throughout the year and particularly in winter.
Malfunctioning cells can cause problems with your battery, check the cells with a battery
acid tester. If a lower value is read off for one cell compared to the others, this may mean
that the cell is defective. If this is the case, have your battery checked as it may be
possible that you need a new battery. A battery may appear to be empty, but this could
possibly be due to the connection between the battery terminals being loose. Check the
terminals and tighten them if necessary. Check the battery again.
Before charging
Before charging, check the battery type and the maximum permitted charging current,
or obtain the applicable information from the battery supplier.
This charger is only suitable for 12 Volt lead acid batteries (including low-maintenance
and maintenance-free batteries) up to 45Ah (for a charge duration of approx. 10 hours)
and should not be used to recharge accumulators, niCad or other battery types.
Safety glasses must be worn when connecting and disconnecting the battery charger.
Do not use the charger in closed or poorly ventilated areas.
the battery charger must not be placed near any sources of heat as this could lead to an
explosion.
Disconnect the battery from the vehicle to prevent damage to the alternator. It is advisable
to remove the battery, where possible, from the vehicle as fluid leaking from the battery
could cause damage.
If you have a maintenance-free/sealed battery, the following tests do not apply.
Carefully remove all caps from the individual battery cells and ensure that the fluid is
at the recommended level. If not, top up the battery with distilled water. (Always wear
protective gloves when doing so as the fluid is corrosive). tap water must never be used.
Wait until all gases have dissipated before replacing the caps.
EXPLANATION:
AMPERES / VOLTAGE / CAPACITY
Amperes:
Amperes: the device and the packaging will indicate the maximum current that the
charger can deliver to the battery. this is dependent on the actual capacity of the battery.
It will decrease with consecutive charging processes.
Voltage: the voltage of the battery being charged must coincide with the specified
Voltage:
voltage of the charger, only then may the charger be connected to the battery.
Connecting a battery to a charger with a different voltage will lead to the battery
becoming defective.
Capacity: If the Ah value (Ah=Ampere hour) of the battery falls within the Ah value
Capacity:
range specified on the charger, it is possible to charge the battery fully within 8-10 hours
from a completely discharged state. If the battery has a higher Ah value than specified,
it can still be charged, but the charging process will take considerably longer.
